Something I just realized after watching all of her videos. She shows a lot of respect of the original artists. In other words she sings all of her songs to perfection and more. Not just for us but also respect for the original artists. Her own original songs are great as well. So talented.

I find it interesting that no one comments about a child singing successfully with a live guitar-band-orchestra. In that instance there is absolute trust between her and the other musicians. This cannot be done if she is not totally reliable as an artist. The orchestra cannot play by itself by virtue of the fact that they are working together. She has to be professional for this to happen.

That is a 2 for 1 there. 😊 And that's kinda cool... Angelina is a kind of artist that is usually will not go for a more superior act trying to over shadow the original... She will just flow into the melody of the style and try to put a little or more of her own and that's it. But that doesn't mean she can't go full throttle. SHE CAN if she will want to. But I guess that's not her style and it's a choice for her. And it's working for her really great. I personally love her Valerie. Have you heard her sing Queens The Show must go on? It's a home recording and sooo good at only 13. It's both soft and an opportunity for a little 'belting', witch isn't something she does often. Song for a is completely different, an old poem by Scottish Robert Burns and music written by Nico Curtosio (for Angelina) who wanted this as a closure on his album.This is the only song, the rest is instrumental. Have you seen her auditions for Norway's Got Talent? You really see both of them the first is " I'm A Fool To Want You" she does this acapella, oh! she is 7 yrs old when she does this. The second is "Gloomy Sunday" both these are Billie Holiday songs. Even if you don't review them they will fill your soul. Angelina is really reaching out into new genres of music. She rewrote the lyrics to b2b in the back of the car on the way to meet this band, I think she was reading the lyrics and this was actually a rehearsal. She sang another Winehouse song "our day will come" along with a "valerie" only about a month ago in a concert just with her stripped down jazz band . Its good, with Angelina looking more relaxed. It was in India, she met a street girl when Angelina was 6, and she was sad the little girl didn't have any shoes so she gave her own shoes, It affected her so much at 6 years old to know there were children in the world who didn't have shoes, that she wrote a book about it and it was published.

In regards to your question, I've heard the change in lyrics had to do with the concern of her parents regarding the original's "age-appropriateness". Apparently, Angelina re-wrote those lyrics on the way to the studio which is why she still has the sheet of new lyrics in front of her as a reference. I believe she's altered lyrics for the same reason on more than one occasion. Not that my opinion counts for anything, but for whatever it's worth, I support the idea.

I'm glad You found the expression "laid back" to describe Angelina's rendition of Valerie. It will probably shorten the numbers of complaints in the comments. Also very nice description "floating like a feather" that's exactly the feeling I get when listening to this song. It is also a very nice "pick me up" song if I feel a little gloomy, it's so full of joyful energy. But I'm not sure what more You want in Back to Black. Angelina's subtle inflections, vibratos and other colorations is so sweet to the ears and gives a nice contrast to songs where belting is better suited, but I guess personal taste is also a part of every musical experience.

@@knate_official I think maybe you might be getting ruined by some of these over-singers 😜 You will rarely ever see Angelina doing something "showy". Her magic is hidden in all the subtle details. You could literally pick almost any line in any of her songs, and if you were to play it back and listen to it really closely several times in a row, you are going to pick up on something special in it. She puts her own little flavors on almost every word. I personally hear new things every time I listen to her. She's kind of the opposite of some of the other singers you react to (I won't say which ones)... They want to smack you in the face with everything they can do. Angelina makes you look for it, but when you hear it, it turns out to be so much more than anything they are doing. With her, sometimes you feel it first, and then hear why you felt it later.... if that makes any sense.

I have always love Amy Winehouse, but wow and I say wow every time I listen to this gifted you vocalist.....She also plays the piano, violin and flute. She comes from a wonderful family that will help keep her on track. You do have the barefoot story right. Angelina did give this young homeless girl her shoes and the young girl said she would always pray for her, Angelina. So in honor of this girl, Angelina always sings barefoot....I have not yet seen her wearing shoe while singing.

Amera Willingham tought herself to sing opera from utube and then won Holland's got talent at age 9 . No voice training at all. No singers in her family. It seems her brother was planning to make mony busking with his violin and she wanted in on the action. If you watch her audition be sure to watch the remarks at the end.

I have watched this little one since she really was a little one, winning the Norways Got talent at the age of 8 (most of that program she was 7). I realy love your reactions to Angelina so I hope you at least could make a reaction a week, as you mentioned. You should also absolutely react to Hua Chen yu. He is also an humble, kind soul behind a huge huge talent. He is one of the most versatile artist there is. He thinks about music very diffrently and he is highly creative. He uses his voice as an instrument often times and sees himself as just one piece of the whole in a performance. He is also a rocker at heart, but doesn't want any label on him, he wants to be free to make all sort of music, either it is rock or pop, opera, rap, classic and so on. He will will never seize to suprise. He has a huge fanbase, so there's that too, and they are always in search of new reactions to him. There are so so many great songs from him, but the one people tend to start with is nunchuckes, it at least shows that he is very versatile. I'm not offended by the term Lazy in music. It'a used a lot. Making it Lazy was probably used to instruct her how to record it. A Shuffle has what's called Lazy 8th's in meter. She nailed it as lazy time and phrasing. Lazy it good
