This is my favorite version of this jazz standard by anybody, which is crazy, since it's by an 11 yo girl. Her slow, smooth, sultry voice is what makes her the "Jazz Queen," Imo. I just hope that after she releases a few albums of original songs & becomes famous, that she will go back to her roots & record a 2-3 album set of jazz standards like Cry Me A River. She really owes that to the History of Jazz to put her stamp on those classic songs. Btw, that was a trombone & the solo was spectacular.

It's not possible for an 11 year old child to sing like this. The soulful tones, the jazzy element, the interpretation of the song, the slowed down tempo. She has it all.

This whole concert in July 21, 2017 is an amazement, Angelina sang thirteen songs including an encore of "Feeling Good". Each song an example of musical mastery, each a testament to Angelina's embodiment of music itself. Rb

Back in the 50's Julie London made this song famous, for she was an excellent jazz singer. Angelina stays true to Julie's rendition and just does an equally excellent rendition.

Yeah, you're right, i'ts not a horn or a trumpet, but a trombone (more exactly a slide trombone). For me, this performance by Angelina and the band is already part of jazz history (the whole concert, by the way...)

She can't do a world tour every year like she did the year before. 😉 So this summer tour will have to do (plus two appearances at Allsang på grensen and a concert at Muse in City Festival). 😇 Most angels agree that this fourth concert of the tour (Prøysenfestival) was the best (unfortunately there are no recordings of the second concert).

@@rogercarriere4756 Yes I do - but completely different genre (in which Angelina probably is not interested). Her name is Jackie Evancho. Jackie's first national tour from mid-2011 to mid-2012 had 18 stops, 16 of which she was still 11yo. In this "Dream With Me Tour" she sang 11 songs + encores each time, accompanied by various full orchestras. In preparation for this tour, she had two concerts with the full program as a "test" in February and March 2011 - since she was born in April 2000, that means she was still 10yo at the time.

The guy on the trombone deserves his extra applause, just great. Since it was the fourth concert within 10 days, Angelna of course knew how good he was and was able to take out her in-ear monitors to enjoy the solo. Of course, Angelina was great too - straight from one queen of jazz to another. We know from a rehearsal that Angelina could tell in the first two bars that it was Ella's or Julie's version. I think this is one of her best live performances and she was just 11 years old in 2017. It's really hard to understand..She had many great live performances in 2017 and 2018 in Norway.
