One of my many favourites. It's songs like this that make me question reincarnation. You listen to modern artists covering these golden classics and they always bring a modern sensibility. The miss the complexities of simple seeming songs. Angelinas voice feels steeped and formed in a different era.

It's such a beautiful Cole Porter song, but Angelina adds that something extra that makes you really feel the meaning of the song. We can't explain what that "something extra" is, but I am so glad she has it. What an Angel.

Thanks for one of my all time favorites Mr.J....My brain broke several years ago listening to Angelina but, good news, it does heal after listening so many many times to this girl. Stumbling over adjectives to describe what you are hearing is also quite normal and part of the process we all go through, again, quite normal. Don't rack your brain to much, it gets confusing. She performed it JUST before she left for LA for the first time, to prepare the move that came 2 years later. I believe she left the next day. In that respect, you may say that the lyrics was very appropriate. Amazing, right ? Just her and a guitar, live outdoors on a rooftop, live on Norwegian television. And she performs like this. Ella Fitzgerald, the original singer of this song, was rated #1 jazz singer of all time recently. Sinatra was 2nd, followed by Nat King Cole and Billie Holiday. Ella's song was done in a totally professional studio with a top quality orchestra. Angelina, knowing she wasn't going to really change anything much to such an amazing performance by Ella, she showed her genius by simply slowing it down. The fact that she was 10 here, singing on a rooftop balcony with a single guitarist keeping time, just shows how fantastic this girl is. To me, she displays more emotionally penetrating delivery than Ella.

I understand how this prodigy "breaks your brain" If you really want to "blow your mind" watch/listen to Ella Fitzgerald (the "queen of jazz") sing this Cole Porter song. The same goes for every cover she does. She doesn't just emulate them, she embodies them and then adds a little (or, occasionally, a lot of) Angelina "spice"
