This rendition, though technically a rehearsal, illustrates Angelina's incorporation of more Billie Holiday inventive elements than any other song possesses. Billie was the most improvisational singer in history and brought forth nuance, phrasing, breathy releases, going from talking to singing within specific lyrical lines, and a plethora of other facets of musicality that no one else ever brought to heartfelt ballad singing and Angelina was able to absorb and perform it all to perfection. No surprise that Angelina stated, if not for Billie Holiday, there would be no Angelina Jordan.

She did the same song a capella on NGT when she was only 7 years old! I believe she was 13 in this clip (but I might be wrong) and has matured quite a bit. Billie Holiday is apparently one of her greatest influencers. In her own words: Without Billie Holiday there would be no Angelina - or words to that effect. Her happy gestures are probably directed ate whatever family member that was behind the camera. She is REALLY getting her kicks out of this! Her "de var kjempe-bra" at the end is Norwegian for something to the effect of "this was great!". Typical for "one-take Angelina". She is in a sound booth with some family members, but the backing music is a large, live orchestra, one of Norway's most prestigious bands. Only the best for Angelina, a Norwegian National Treasure...
