And as always, here is a little bio for those just discovering Angelina, so that you can learn a little more about her background and her kind and caring soul....... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 15 - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...barefoot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person. - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need. - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 130 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written five of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", "Million Miles", and 7th Heaven" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a beautiful world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music. - Updates: On Aug 26, 2020 Angelina's Manager/Uncle announced in an interview that they have decided on Republic Records as the best fit for Angelina and she is now signed with them as their "highest priority new artist". On Nov 6 she released her first single under Republic... "Million Miles"! On March 19 2021 Angelina released her latest single "7th Heaven" She has done so much already, but at 15 she is just getting started!!!

She entered Norway Got Talent when she was 7 and won the show when she was 8 by singing these incredible old Jazz classics in a voice full of soul of someone who has lived a lifetime of heartache...without even knowing the English language (she sang it phonetically!). Her renditions from those days of Billie Halliday's Gloomy Sunday, Summertime, I shot you down, etc, are still stunning people on KZbin to this day. She was about 9 or 10 in this performance. At 13 she entered America Got Talent - The Champions edition, and she got the golden buzzer for her rendition of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", followed by Elton John's "Yellow Brick Road". She has over 100 covers on the internet, mostly just her and her guitarist as her parents refused to sign her to any major deal to allow her to be a kid. She is a special one, no question about it. "I put a spell on you" shows her at her feistiest. She usually is much more prim and proper, just a sweet angel, who at 13 is already probably taller than me!! There are tons of Angelina Jordan fans. She, Dimash, Lara Fabian, Diana, and a handful of others have some of the most loyal fans it seems!

Buckle up if you are going to take this ride down the rabbit hole of over 140 covers and other videos that she has recorded between the ages of 6 and 15 which is her current age. She has already established herself as an accomplished Jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance. Angelina has sung all over the world for Nobel Laureates, heads of state, music icons, and other dignitaries. She has performed everywhere from small weddings of a few people, to London's O2 stadium, and Seoul South Korea with 40,000 people. She performs at jazz festivals, conferences, and charity benefits. 9 years and 2 months when this was recorded. Her arrangement too. Most 4th graders can't even count 6/8 time. This was full beast mode. She never sang it quite so fiercely afterwards in live performances, as it is actually quite exhausting and hard on the voice. Nice reaction, and welcome to the club.

9 yrs 2 months. You still have no idea the level of her talent. This is a mans world will blow your socks off. There is a video "The Angelina Jordan story/ Ivan Mendez interview" He's the guitar player she works with when it's just her and guitar. He talks about how they never decide anything in advance when rehearsing. She likes to "Shoot from the hip" and figure out where it's going to go on the fly. She's also an incredibly patient person and takes everything in stride. It'll be done when it's done, as long as it's perfect. Great interview

Your reaction is was has become the stereotypical shock and awe experience whenever reactors see and hear this incredible performance for the first time. We don’t just listen to Angelina, we experience her. She is a force of nature that only comes around once in a generation. Angelina puts a spell on everyone, especially when we realize that she was only nine years old in this performance. Of all of the talented young female music artists out there, Angelina travels in her own lane. She is a multi talented musical artist. She writes, arranges and composes her own songs in addition to being able to play multiple instruments. She also speaks four languages. She is the youngest Norwegian citizen to have written a book and had it published. She was nine years old when she wrote her book.

Sir, when she did this, she was already a star in Scandinavia, because of NGT 2014. FYI, she designs her "stage clothes" and sews her herself. Since age 4 she visited The Oslo Academy for performing Arts and Music. Since Age 6 she ALSO was going to the Waldorf School Oslo. Since around summer 2018 she visits a school for special gifted children (No NOT Professor X) in LA, because Oslo had taught her all they could. AJ is thought to have a super-high IQ, how else can she speak, Norse, Farsi, English, Swedish and Japanese; playing keyboard, guitar, flute and another instrument. The musicians of Scandinavia nicknamed her adoringly "the boss", because SHE is arranging her music and knows exactly how the musicians have to play it. She is emphatic and can feel the songs she wants to sing. Oh, and she has been seen going out to bring food to the homeless people in LA. Raising more then USD 30.000,00 for charity. Singing for charity even when sick and under the weather (I'll be there, at last, etc.) And NO she is definitely not a Saint, she do have a VERY WELL CONTROLLED mean streak as everybody else have. Oh, this is delicious. I always love seeing someone get their first listen to Angelina. You have no idea the journey you have before you. Each step of the way will be a pleasant surprise for you. As you dig deeper into Angelina's music, you'll find that she is incredibly versatile, singing jazz, blues, rock, pop, classical, gospel, country, or EDM. Angelina has been called the girl with a thousand voices. That's an exaggeration, but she's got a lot of them and uses the one that best expresses the song she is singing. The other thing that you will find is her amazing ability to communicate emotion. Listening to Angelina is a multi-sensory experience. You don't just hear her, you feel her. She is from Norway, but liv in LA - Angelina is easily explained as the best young and most complete singer we can listen to today. When her record label, family and herself want it, they can just push the button. Many people forget that she is only 15 years old today, and because she is so mature for her age. She still goes to school. and I think everyone on her team including the record company (Public Record). slows down a bit with marketing her fully. She is so good anyway, and delivers music that lasts! And not music that lasts for 1 month.

Great reaction and completely understandable! It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this! "I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video). She starts low, rising in intensity throughout and finishes in an unexpected and practically operatic style. You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age).
