For me one of the things that really separates Angelina from other child performers is that you can tell this is not just an "act" she is doing. This is coming straight from the soul. ...and since Angelina may be new to some of your followers, here's a quick bio: - Angelina Jordan was born in Jan 2006. She is currently 13 (barely 9 in this performance) - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through KZbin videos and studied all the greats from Jazz history. - When Angelina was 6, she was traveling and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. The girl complimented her on her pretty shoes, so Angelina took them off and gave them to the girl. She made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public she is barefoot. (that's a shortened version. the full story is more touching than the way I have told it here) - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the money, the 8 year old replied "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 80 songs over the last 5 years, everything ranging from old classics to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, and many more. All of which heard her doing covers of their songs and were blown away. - Angelina has written three of her own original songs (at 12 years old): "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

Angelina is one of the most addictive singers I have ever listened to, & one of the very few, that can pull you right into the song, making you feel, every word, every note, & every emotion. ❤️💙 I always have this feeling that Angelina is not only channeling some of these late great singers, but that they also pass through her, when she is singing their song ❤️💙 A rare beauty, in every sense of the word ❤️💙 Loved your reaction!!!

I’ve listened hundreds of times and still don’t believe in what I see in this video and in Back to Black where she changed the lyrics in less than 24 hours. Same with the Christmas songs, At last, I’ll be there, etc

She will become a legend one day. One of the reasons she is not so exposed yet is that she comes from a poorly populated country Norway (5, 5 million) - And that it takes a little longer to be discovered. Thinking about the USA etc .. Each country lives in its own world with its own talents, therefore it will take time from a small country like Norway. And her parents want her to have as natural a childhood as possible. She now lives in LA, and everyone in the industry knows that Angelina is a diamond. She sings her songs with layers of texture in the voice, and does not shout out loud tone just to show off.

I am really hopeful that she/her parents will stick to their guns about not signing to a label for a while. I think she is going to make some amazing music in the years to come, and would rather not see the bean counters trying to shape her style to make it more marketable. We have seen many young talents turn into generic bubble-gum pop and make videos in their underwear just for the sake of selling product.

India, you have now opened up a whole new world of reactions by watching Angelina! She is now 13 and has over 100 videos including 3 original songs named Oslo, Shield and What is Life! She won Norway's got talent at age 8,she started the show still seven years old! She covers many of the greats including Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Etta James Nina Simone, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Adele and Whitney Houston to name a few! I have heard almost every cover of this song including the original (I was around for it) and this is destined to become the benchmark for anyone wanting to cover it! The best version of this song ever, including the original by Screamin Jay Hawkins in 1956, regardless of what a couple of uninformed people below believe!

@@BlackWolfSpirit The story goes that Hawkins tried to lay down that track multiple times and couldn't get it right, so he and the band went out and got hammered, came back to the studio and the rest is history! There have been some great covers of this including CCR, Nina Simone, Beth Hart and Samantha Fish but Angelina's version is for the ages! I personally believe that when Angelina recorded this Screamin Jay sat straight up in his coffin and said "finally, someone got it right!"There are so many Angelina covers that still bring me to tears! At Last, Feeling Good, Crazy, Unchained Melody, I was never a fan of Michael Jackson but Angelina's cover of I'll Be There gave me chills!

Great reaction as always. Angie is music. She can do any genre & sound better than most originals. 1 word to describe her from everyone who hears her, "WOW!!!" A God given voice & talent. What what what???? The original is from Jay Hawkins. IPASPOY has been covered by different artists. A cover is reinterpreted and arranged by the artist. By the way, also by Angelina Jordan. She had a great influence on this production. Until the age of 10 years, Angelina has exclusively sung songs that she has chosen and likes. I love the version of Creedence Clearwater Revival, but it's just a cover, a rock cover. If Angelina could not sing that song for her, Angelina would have changed that song. She also did it on the cover Back to Black. I think different styles of music can not be objectively compared. Angelina is a prodigy, an exception talent. I really like Grace. Her lyric writing ability is especially good... but... Vocally Angelina is in a different league. That's nothing against Grace's vocals either. She has a nice unique voice. It's just that vocally Angelina is in a different league than most adult singers.... like ever in history.

First, this is not a CCR song. It is a Screamin' Jay Hawkins song (as it says in the video). It has been covered by countless people over the years, but none came as close to the essence of the original as Angelina did here. Second, this is a 9 year old girl. I think the guys from CCR would give this incredible, soulful performance their full endorsement.
