She just turned 9 here and is basing this of the original by Screaming Jay Hawkins. It is the singer on the candle she holds out at the start. She was involved in the whole production. At the beginnen she gives the director some notes with some requests for the arrangement. She also seems to be directing the band and with the sax solo she shakes her nose a little ahead of a riff. Angelina is a Jazz singer & she learned from the the best Jazz singers of Jazz & music history. Angelina immersed herself in KZbin video's of these Icons starting at 3-4 yrs old guided by her Iranian Grandmother Mery Zamani an artist and child prodigy in her own right. Her first Idol was Billie Holliday who she started with on her journey to the stage at Norway's Got Talent. She opened with 'Gloomy Sunday' which she inhabited and absolutely infused Billie into the song. The similarities are incredible. She followed with another Billie classic singing 'I'm a Fool to Want You' acapella pitch perfect and infused with the same Billie Holiday essence. I've heard this performance backed by the original music and it's like Billie Holiday was like Billie was singing through a child voice. A beautiful child voice. You want to know where she learned it. She learned it from the greatest in history going back to the 30s & 40s. This one she learned from J Hawkins himself. I have no doubt she had it on repeat on KZbin. And nobody forced Angelina to practice, they wanted her to sing children's songs. She would have none of that! Angelina has always been the driving force in her development. Begging to be on that "Simon show" by the age of 3 and insisting on getting on Norway's Got Talent at 5 & having to wait till she was 7. I love this performance so much. As they say AJ don't play. Well perhaps this is what she does when she does play and we get the most stunning, amazing performance of a 9 yr old of this Jazz standard ever created. I believe it is going to go down in Jazz & Music history as the best ever for this age and in my opinion the best rendition of this song ever created Screamin Jay included. It will be revisited for Generations and will remain relevant for Generations to come. Any one discovers this performance for the first time today or a 100 years from today are going to be as amazed and astounded as everybody has been to this point. Think of the children who will be inspired by this one performance in the decades to come. This is an Iconic performance and will alway be Iconic. Angelina has on her own from early on at 6 or 7 yrs old reintroduced what I believe will be a whole new Jazz Era and redefined by this young phenom and prodigy. That is astounding! And she is just 16 years old... That is unfathomable!... Oh Lord... what is coming the world is not prepared for but we as fans have been on the edge of our seats and will remain there as we wait. No hurry. We want Angelina to do it her way when she is ready. She has already established her proficiency and incredible work ethic in this endeavor guided by an incredible family and professional support now surrounding her. We know Angelina will continue to amaze! We will be here to experience and cherish it for as long as we live.... and I am praying for many more years for myself to enjoy it till the end of my days... Not to be morbid but when I'm lying in my deathbed I hope to go out of this world listening to the most beautiful voice ever created for man just as Angelina came into it to fulfill her purpose, what she was put on earth to do, sing for the whole World... and Me! To me Angelina is always singing to me transporting me to that beautiful place she inhabits when she sings and to experience it with her. She has the ability to touch hearts and souls and change lives. She has the ability to change lives on a personal level and the power to change lives on a global scale. To me no one compares. You just watched a Masterpiece! Destined to go down in Music History as the best performance by a 9 yr old, Period! Past, present & dare I say Future! I'd like to see anyone, young or old who can do a cover of this & with the justice it deserves as Angelina has done on every cover she does. ♥👣👸🏻
