Excellent reaction. this was how the song was meant to be sung, Toby Gad chose the right vocalist in Angelina. This is actually a BC Jean cover, co-wrote the song with Toby Gad and she performed it first, Beyonce did a cover of it later on, so not a Beyonce cover. Cheers, stay well.

This cover is glorious, it lets her voice absolutely shine. Thanks to Toby for asking AJ to sing this reinvented cover of his song for his Piano Diaries album. Toby is quoted saying, “Working with Angelina has been nothing short of inspiring. Nice reaction! On the piano is the co-writer of the song, Toby Gad. Just to let you know, the other co-writer of the song, BC Jean, was the first to sing the song as well as the person the song came from. She had just broken up with the man that she loved. Per Toby, he played it for Beyonce one day and she really wanted to sing and use this song, and the rest you say is history. Angelina and Toby have been working together for a while now and are creating new music for her to sing. They teased a song at a special event called Bad Valentine and it should be coming out within a few months. This collaboration is awesome! The Piano Diaries is Toby's project of other singers singing his most famous songs. Angelina of course is singing this song made famous by Beyonce. Who is Toby Gad? Gad is a German music producer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. He is known for co-writing songs including John Legend's biggest hit, "All of Me", the fifth-highest certified single in RIAA history, and for co-writing and producing "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie and "If I Were a Boy" by Beyoncé. A cover only in the sense that what Beyoncé made was a cover of the song written by BC Jean and Toby Gad, originally performed by Jean in 2008. Beyoncé's cover was that same year. In this video the pianist is Toby Gad .. the Piano Diaries are a celebration of his hit songs. He invited Angelina to England with him to perform .. this is the fourth version I have heard. I am not sure if it is really a cover when a singer is standing next to the composer as they jam to create a different version of the song. My assumption is that re-working a song goes much better when the composer is at the piano.
