Flame, I agree, Angelina's vocals skill is mind-blowing. The Amy Whitehouse comparison is obvious though. Amy's passing was way to soon and left a huge void in the world of music. Amy brought back a style of music that was long gone and created easily one of the best albums ever recorded in BACK TO BLACK. I missed Amy and looked to Adele, Duffy and Paloma Faith to fill that hole that Amy left. Angelina is a talent all her own with soul, skill musical intellect second to none. She honors singers of long ago by returning to the past for influence and inspiration. Make no mistake though, what we are hearing from Angelina is all her own. She has created a sound and style soon to dominate the airwaves and concert halls around the world and for sure will be imitated but will not and cannot be duplicated. Angelina is special, so so special.

Angelina, not only are you among the greatest singers in the music business, but you are also one of the greatest lyricists in the business. After about 3 weeks of listening to these songs I’ve decided to re-evaluate all the songs, as a result of my reevaluation the list has not changed. All of the songs on the EP could be number one. The first thing that I’ll make clear is that this is my opinion and as time goes on I may change my mind, but here goes. The top of my list is ‘Diamond’ - kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4LNqXSBdq2GndU - this is a very powerful statement about the real start of her career.- she seems to be saying that the past is gone and this is my future. Next is ‘Fire And Rain’ - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaTJqKGpbdxpna8 - in this song she is saying that she is strong enough to face the future, and as long as the Angels stay by her side she will grow stronger and stronger. . Next is ‘Good In Goodbyes’ - kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKqse5qrgZaNfpo - this is a recovery song. There has been a bad relationship, but she has learned from it and it has made her stronger. The symbolism in these lyrics are almost as good as in ‘Love Don’t Let Me Go’. Next is ‘Now I’m The Fool’ - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnO7dImPlJKFo7c - this is a very sophisticated look at someone being jilted. I hope it wasn’t Angelina. She is so good at expressing the emotions of others that I don’t think it was her, however, the end of the song is so powerful it may make you reconsider. Next is ‘Love Don’t Let Me Go’.- kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4aZiIyVr52Jq5o - the personification of Love asking that even though she is placing most of her attention on her career she is asking Love to stay with her. These are the most sophisticated lyrics, I’m sure a lot of work went into this song. The last song from the EP is ‘All My Fault’ - kzbin.info/www/bejne/sF7EaoSbqcujbZY - though I this song, the last on the EP, it’s still an excellent song. This is an apology for a love gone wrong, and she is asking for another try. The major comment for all the songs is that they are all great. She not only has one of the greatest voices, her lyrics are sophisticated and impactful. Her previous covers and originals are excellent beyond belief, but they don’t approach the quality of any of the songs on this EP. The songs that come the closest to this EP are ‘You Say’ and ‘Million Miles’. I want to make clear that the above comments and evaluations are my interpretations of her lyrics. I want to reiterate that in my opinion Angelina and her songwriting team are among the best in the industry.

Absolutely do not agree when you said if you close your eyes you wouldn’t know it’s not Amy Winehouse. Angelina do sing in the same style but she’s definitely developed a voice uniquely her own. Amy Winehouse had a wonderful voice no doubt but I didn’t listen to her much because I didn’t receive a the same emotion from her as I do to Angelina’s voice. Great reaction you two. I always enjoy your reactions especially because we get the perspective from two generations. We also need more from Dashy’s age group to discover Angelina so that she will have a long and successful career. This is the 2nd song from her 6 song EP. The first was Love Don’t Let Me Go which i think you have already reacted to. All the songs are originals and all amazing. Her lyrics are getting great praise from a lot of reactors. She recently stated in a live chat that she has written over 100 songs so we can expect a lot more original music from her. In fact she will be releasing a full album later this year. FYI the remaining 4 don’t have videos but that only allows you to focus on her amazing voice even more.

Last month a blind young lady on AGT covered Angelina’s version of Bohemian Rhapsody. There have also been several instrumental covers of Angelina’s songs on YT. Haven't been this impressed by an accumulation of improvisational songs with 'deep and 'profound' lyrics that are included in this EP since Amy's album 'Back To Black' which was a multiple Grammy winner. Here, you get a 'hint' of Amy's sound and style, but Angelina takes it to another level vocally. The whole 'EP' displays more than Amy's 'Jazz/R&B' delivery, actually bringing in a whole multitude of different genres that are presented in intricate, complex form, to a degree of improvisational singing that I've never experienced before.

This is the second song from her wonderful new EP, listening to the 5 new songs from Angelina's EP, so beautiful and different from each other, was truly a transcendent experience for me. The combination of her talent, her fantastic growth, her unique voice, the captivating lyrics and the beauty of the emotions they convey simply leaves me in awe and grateful to have known her 10 years ago and to have had the pleasure of being able to follow her evolution over the years. I still can't decide which one I prefer, 5 new songs is too much to digest together, but I loved every minute of listening to this EP. I understand the sensations of similarity of voices, but you have to think of Angelina as a delicious cocktail made up of excellent spirits, the ingredients can be different and of excellent quality, but when you order it at the counter you will not ask for a mix of red Vermouth, Campari, Gin and orange, but you will ask for a Negroni. This is it, this wonderful girl, a mix of inspirations, assimilations and elaborations, but in the end the result is absolutely one and unique, Angelina's blend.💛🧡❤

her new EP all originals i can't decide which is the best song. the whole ep is such a masterpiece and so well written by her i can only say she is outstanding and by far the best singer of this decade and diamond is yet a bigger surprise i have never experienced in my whole life that an EP contains only number 1 songs each of the 6 songs is a hit and grammy worthy i hope republic records finally fires up the promo engine and it gets played on radio and tv only youtube is too little. Angelina is like a sponge who sucks a lot of styles with her covers from over 80 famous artists the last 10y. Now Old enough to release her own music. I will never been able to mistake Angelina's voice for Amy's voice. There is so much difference between the 2 voices. Angelina's voice has much more colour and is more rich and soulful than Amy. The only similarity is the style of singing.

Angelina is forging new roads. She calls her style Jazzy/Pop. I like to call it Classic/Jazzy/Pop or Old School/Jazzy/Pop or perhaps Vintage/Jazzy/Pop. Maybe Retro/Jazzy/Pop. It's wonderful to have another Angelina Jordan reaction from you two, D&D. She's amazing, isn't she? No doubt that both Amy and Angelina sing in similar genres, but I wasn't utterly captivated by Amy's voice like I am with Angelina's. I also like Angelina's songwriting better. Hi guys, love your reactions together :) I think Angelina has a similar "vibe" than Amy, like mixing genres and such. And I LOVE Amy but I think Angelina at 17 (and before) has more power and vocal resources than Amy ever had. Anyway, this EP is absolutely fabulous! As a fan, I've been waiting for this release for a long time and even for me, Angelina surpassed my expectations! Looking forward to your reaction to the rest of the album :) BTW, Angelina has a concert "An Evening with Angelina Jordan" programed for the 22nd of September in Portsmouth, NH in the historical venue "The Music Hall". We are hoping that some footage will be shared eventually. So excited!!!

There are similarities to Amy Winehouse in her style but Angelina’s style is influenced by many other artists too such as the jazz greats of the past including Billie Holiday who was her biggest influence and inspiration as a young girl. Amy was also influenced by a lot of the same artists as Angelina.

Disagree listen to amy and Angelina side by side , different voice and sound , similarities in inflections, pronunciation , scat . which is the jazz influence both artists influenced by the same jazz greats , but both " sound completely different .singing in the same jazz influenced style is completely different to having the same sounding voice .
