Red. Just a little note about this piece. As it should be for Angelina, and that happens every now and then. Angelina took the "original score". Many say that such and such an artist has already recorded this aria. But most, almost all, made their version of it. And you can see again that she has an incredible feel for a performance. And that's exactly why I adore Angelina more than anything. She has "the absolute knack!"

Angelina sounds wonderful all the time but now and then she is otherworldly, this to me is one of them, along with her NGT performance of this song. They are similar but different if that makes sense as the NGT one has more crackle to it (for wont of a technical description), this one is smoother. When Angelina was 8, she was asked about her first song. Angelina said: I started with…jazz. She was always a jazz singer in her bones. When she sings this bluesy jazz, you’re waiting to hear what she does with the next note-every note. This is one of three performances she's done with KORK. The others being "Back to Black" (also at 10 ) and more recently her Nobel Piece Prize performance of "Unchained Melody"... The beautiful venue for this performance is a restaurant located about six miles southeast of Oslo. You can see the fyord through the large windows... Established in 1946, KORK is a highly respected orchestra which has always performed well with Angelina. After her "Back to Black" performance, she was clearly unhappy after listening to it in the studio. She spoke with the director and the musicians picked up their instruments, went back to work and produced the final rendition. Such respect for a little girl... True professionals... After her performance of "Unchained Melody", Angelina went on Instagram and thanked KORK'S administrator and the orchestra for "trusting" her in the "process" of creating such a spectacular rendition of that beautiful song... Professional respect all around. That's why they produce such beautiful music together... I sure hope they work together in the future... Imagine an album. It would be incredible. 👣👣💕💕

This is the same orchestra that performed with Angelina when she sang Unchained Melody at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony last December. The first person they zoomed in on in this video was a a female flutist. She can also be clearly seen in the Nobel Unchained Melody performance. She is also the last member they zoomed in on in this video. It looks as though she is barely able to keep it together before tears start streaming down her cheeks.

Red, this orchestral version is incredibly beautiful & smooth as butter, but her 8 yo jazzy version in the finals of NGT, is equally as beautiful, but totally different with a lot of rasp. Whenever Angelina sings a song she has sung before, it will be at least a little different & sometimes totally different, but never exactly the same, as many other singers do. In the future, there will be books & Ph.D. Dissertations written on the Musicality of Angelina Jordan. Just sayin'!!!

Hey Red...this is by far the most beautiful cover of this classic piece. And her growth from 8 and winning NGT to being 10 when this was recorded is just insane. And it's her interpretation and shows how she approaches it versus her NGT performance. It is a measure slower than the original and that too is her choice. I don't know her age as of this performance, but she appears to be about 12 or 13. She had her 18th birthday in January. This is the last song she sang at age 8 for her Norway's Got Talent competition, which she won, and she has been doing her own arrangements since that time. I don't know whether that is still true since she signed with a recording studio.

This is a gem! AJ and KORK is a recipe for success. I feel that her stay in the US has made her more one-dimensional musically. Her brilliant musical timing is not that strong any more, and She no longer uses her entire musical toolbox, but leans on the typically American way of singing, with a lot of fray and vocal runs all over the place. It's nice to hear her sing more straight forvard, like in this video.

It’s funny, I just heard a contestant sing “Fantasia’s Summertime” last night on American Idol. The three judges raved over her performance, I thought it was horrible what she did to this song. And all this time I thought George Gershwin wrote it for Porgy and Bess. Check out that version and see what you think.
