Nice reaction and surpirsed look on your face! Her Grandma, Mery Zamani, helped produced this. She used the same store (Melrose Gallery) she used for her My Funny Valentine and I Have Nothing videos. Her sister Juliette was the older girl and the 2 younger girls are her Uncle Mike's kids. 2- time Grammy winner Rob Christie is on piano once again. He is also the music director of Republic Records, the music company she is signed with. The beehive hairstyle was to honor Priscilla Presley and the time period she met Elvis. The black suit and red guitar was a classic look for Elvis from his comeback concert. What a performance and homage to The King!

Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. Michael, she is 16 here and this was produced just this past summer in Los Angeles, just before her Norwegian concert tour (many songs of which you should also definitely check out). Yes, she does play piano and guitar (with some other moderate skills in flute and violin). The pianist is Rob Christie, 2-time Grammy winner, one of the producers at Republic Records with whom Angelina is signed, and has become a mentor to Angelina since 2020. You have been missing out on reacting to the greatest singer on the planet. She has over 160 videos on youtube. She writes the vocal arrangement for all her songs. She is a gift to the world. The word "prodigy" doesn't even begin to explain her talent. She can make you cry. At one point she even cried herself. She doesn't sing songs. She lives them. I was fortunate enough to go to Norway for two of her concerts in July. I also got to spend time with Angelina and her mother (Sara) after both concerts. It was magical. Elvis's version was a 60s Vegas jangle pop song which obscured the meaning of the lyrics. The subject matter is about the most sensitive topic in a relationship but the fad at the time was fast rhythm and horns. Even country music was doing jangle pop. Good call about her intentional note by note attention she gives all her song.

To answer your toughest question, my favorite cover of Angelina's is the last one I listened to!! Shes16 here. The two youngest girls are her cousins, the older girl is her sister.. She plays the piano, guitar, and I'm sure other instruments also. She has several originals. As usual, she has the guts and the talent to take on a classic, change it enough to make it her own while still paying homage to the original artist. She did the same thing with Bohemian Rhapsody, at 13. Great reaction. Dude, you need to dive head first into this artist.

Elvis Presley and his producer Felton Jarvis cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original arrangement completely and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version). The Pianist Rob Christie ( music studio Manager by Republic Records) changed the musical arrangement and Angelina the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyric structure, starting with the bridge and giving the song a different meaning. Once again many people don't hear and understand the song until when Angelina tells the story. 💯 *AJ* 💯👣

A TV station did a short film on her at one of the concerts where they recorded her singing her 2 latest original songs, 7th Heaven, an inspirational jazzy/pop song about never giving up on your dream & living life with hope and Million Miles about the loss of a loved one, which for her was her grandpa. Actually Michael, this is also my favorite Angelina performance, and I've heard everything she has done (most multiple times). It's really difficult to describe how Wonderful this is---setting, direction, piano accompaniment, sound reverb, actors, and of course, her Incredible vocal. Absolutely STUNNING!! Angelina is 16 here, and she sounds like a 30 year old woman. From the very first note she is mesmerizing. She put my jaw right on the floor. Great reaction, Michael. You've seen her at 7/8, and now at 16. There's only about 200 performances in between. She was her most prolific when she was 10-12 years old. I suggest watching many of her videos from that age range- they are amazingly mature in tome and vocal quality. I think her vocal transition took place when she was about 10 years old, from what I can tell.

Yeah! She’s something special, isn’t she? Power & Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. Did you notice that right foot raise it''s heal to cradle the guitar a couple of times in the performance. I was waiting for her to throw in a little shake to it in homage to the King. Could that have been intentional? That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes. I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday’ and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. This is my 80th time experiencing this video, and each and every time it gets better. We must give credit to the support team behind this phenom. There is no one on earth that can match the talent of this STORYTELLER. AJ deconstructs a song then reconstruct it to make each individual hearing it feel it was written for them, a love letter to their comfort zone. It is the same antique store in Hollywood that she used for My Funny Valentine AJ plays guitar, keyboard/piano, violin and flute. Don’t forget she writes music and was the youngest author in Norway to publish a book. No loud band, no light show, no dancers, just two instruments to accompany the MAGIC that Angelina Jordan brings like no one else can. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Great reaction. Kudos for recognizing Priscilla's hairstyle! The "piano player" is 2-time Grammy winner, Rob Christie, who is also the Republic Records Studio Director. Angelina's manager/uncle, Michael Astar, signed a contract with Republic Records when Angelina was 14 years old, with the agreement that, from "my" understanding, Angelina has full control over her recordings. Of course, I could be wrong about the agreement. If I am, I'm sure a few of Angelina's fans will bring me up to date. It's all good! 😀

This is song was written by, Mark James’. He recorded it and it didn’t do well. He then gave Elvis his permission to record it. Even though Elvis made the song famous, Mark didn’t like Elvis’ upbeat pop arrangement. It took Angelina’s vocal arrangement and Rob Christie’s musical arrangement to interpret and produce the song as Mark intended it to be.

The 2 younger girls are her cousins. The older one is her younger sister. She is 16 years old. She manages to always own the covers she does. And yes, she plays various instruments. Piano, guitar and a few others. The Piano player is Rob Christie. Award winning Manager at Republic records. My theory on her covers is nobody can emit the emotion and soul of a song like Angelina. I think she reads the lyrics first before listening to the song. In this way she can understand the feeling and emotion the artist wants to convey. Then she arranges it to be able to dramatically convey the feeling and emotion to us. She takes iconic songs and makes them Angelina songs. Her vocals, tones and smokiness do the rest. She is already The Greatest of All Time! Just amazing!!

"My Funny Valentine" is the most amazing cover (as far as her vocal skills are concerned) so far I think but this one comes to very close as the second one. Also her Adele covers "All I Ask" and "Easy On Me" are extrely good. But I like almost every cover song she has ever done. The "Above The Water" is electronic dance music and I don't like that genre particularly but her singing is okay in that song also. The piano player in every cover after she has been 14 years old is Rob Christie (the studio director of Republic Records). I think they have done very close co-operation in Republic Records when they have been recording Angelina's upcoming debut album with original songs (only original songs I've heard) for the last 3 years. The first single from that album will be coming out in the end of April. The whole album will be available in autumn this year.
