I am so very proud of Angelina for speaking out. It is the most outgoing I have seen her since I've been following her 6 years ago. We all go through pain in life and some are beaten by it and others learn to overcome and learn from it. Angelina has shown here a side of herself that we always knew existed, a strength and positivity. Thank you James for the work you've done on this video, and making the vocals clearer so that we can understand what Angelina is saying. For me, the most impressive thing here is her speech.
@103mrg4 ай бұрын
ron Let me get this straight....you're proud of her for speaking out....by "airing dirty laundry"?
@ronraskind4 ай бұрын
I am absolutely proud of her for being comfortable enough and open enough to share what she has been through. As she said herself, she knows many of us may have gone through things and that we must speak out and not keep it inside. I don't see it as dirty laundry for sure. I see it as a human being opening up as a welcome for everyone else to do the same when they need to. Very mature action for an 18-year-old girl. I know the mental health field well and she has done the right thing in my opinion.
@103mrg4 ай бұрын
@@ronraskind First, let me say that, over the years, having read many of your comments and occasionally exchanging messages with you, I believe that we are very like-minded when it comes to the subject of Angelina. I recognize you as one of the few dozen or so genuinely informed Angelina fans who regularly turn up in the comments section of her videos. I respect you... I, too, have worked in the mental health field, with my own practice in psychotherapy. Unfortunately, Ron, on this particular issue, I couldn't disagree with you more. It was a disaster of a mistake! I could write a entire book explaining why; but I'll spare you....Yup, gonna be one of those "agree to disagree things" I guess. Be well.
@103mrg4 ай бұрын
@@ronraskind So, having spent some time trying to make sense of this, I've shifted the position of my comment to you (from 3 days ago). I now agree.....Let me explain: my reply was a knee-jerk reaction to discovering that Sara had outed the "betrayer" of the song to a few fans. I guess when I wrote my comment to you, that's what was on my mind. (I was referencing Angelina, but my annoyance was with Sara and I didn't make that distinction.) I believe that ANY issue one has with family is NEVER suitable for public consumption. And so, by naming her father as the one responsible for what is essentially emotional abuse, in my opinion, Sara comes off as a vindictive, spiteful ex-wife. (I think when Angelina finds out about this "indiscretion", she's going to be royally pissed.) (I can't help but think, if this became "public knowledge", how it would affect Gerry professionally.).....As for Angelina talking about it, I'm right with you on that. Like many other artists, their songs are often cathartic: perhaps reflecting, for example, the dark shadow of a romance gone bad, the "evil-doer who done them wrong", etc., but the offender is never named, and it often becomes a ongoing mystery that keeps fans amused and guessing. Openly talking about some of her trials and tribulations, without going into specifics, I believe Angelina is doing the right thing for herself both mentally and emotionally. As you wrote: by "not keeping it inside", Angelina once again displays a maturity and intelligence far beyond her years. I'm curious to see whether the song, Angelina's explanation, Sara's naming, etc., leads to any consequences.
@ronraskind4 ай бұрын
@@103mrg Thanks for your follow up. None of us really know the details of what happened, whose fault it really was, reasons for events, etc. All we know is that Angelina expressed it as hurt and betrayal, as she experienced it. That's all we need to know. Blame is not useful from our standpoint. Angelina spoke and sang about it as we both have said, in a cathartic way. It helped her, and she stated she wanted to help others speak about their pain. An admirable quality I think.

It pains me to hear that she has been going through pain. All I can think of is that 7-year-old girl and wishing that she never experienced anything that would hurt her. But at 18 years old, I realize that's not realistic and that she will experience life as we all do. I felt a great deal of pride and admiration for her as she was able to speak about her experience and share it with us in a way that was strong and also helpful to others. She has proven here that she will continue to use her platform to help others and to spread peace and love. If anyone had any doubt about a child star staying on the right path, it's clear you don't have to worry about Angelina that way.

Like when he's say, trying to make her mom the bad guy for looking out for her, and his surmise of Angie, and her needs and wants is garbage. His manipulations. Exactly the kind of thing she needs to defeat, men trying to isolate her from her family or the world. It's what we do when we're weak and scared. The fear of losing an angel like that may cause Men to try that on her a lot. It's one more reason to let her know we love her family, nobody could be great as her without a great family, and encourage her to fight to keep them forever close through anything that may come up.

I can't imagine that the record company or, at the very least, the family aren't making recordings of these live performances. It's just not that hard to do and the cost would be very minimal. It would sound 1000% better. I'll do it for free !

Now that you are done with your rant, I can say that everything you said is the same wish we have. We wish that they would release professional video / audio. But, unless Toby Gad is directly involved, that has to my knowledge NEVER been the case, and as far as Angelina's 4 shows in the USA, only the Glendale show had professional cameras, which I am relativey certain were there due to Toby being involved, hence the official video released by Toby of BAD VALENTINE and for the "concert documentary" produced by Mama SARA. But as far as this video and associated audio in particular are concerned, literally what you SEE is what you Get. Every time the vocal is lost, you can SEE Angelina is not singing directly into the mic, and no direct audio will fix that. And as far as the sound of the audio, some 30 hours minimum were spent by myself and actuall audio engineers to help salvage the audio, but there is only so much you can do, especially when vocal content is simply missing totally. And I TOTALLY AGREE, she deserves better. You have NO IDEA what was involved in trying to bring this video together. And you don't need to "Imagine" that the record company or family aren't making recordings, because I can tell you THEY ARE NOT, unless you include their own cell phones. AND BY THE WAY, we are doing it for FREE. If you have something you can offer to help, then Great, Otherwise it is beyond Obvious you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to this particular situation. 😇Jim

In the introduction to the song, she talks about betrayal and the closest person she loved. Does anyone know who she is talking about?
@SaneGrey952-yd6ex4 ай бұрын
I was wondering that too, especially considering the lyrics, and the fact that she said, "massive betrayal".

The closed caption wouldn’t come on, and I couldn’t hear her well enough to understand the lyrics. Wonder why her voice was coming through loud and clear while talking but muted while singing.

Sounded somewhat OK to me but I imagine she might have been crying at the time she was singing this and making it hard for us to hear. Powerful lyrics. Try following the song with the lyrics using headphones, lyrics are in CC and in comments.

Good Question... I wonder the same... I worked on the Audio for both sections, with the contribution of an Actual and Experienced AUDIO Engineer, so it is about as good as it is going to get I imagine. But, I don't know why such a disparity between Conversation and Song, except obviously for all the Instrumentals and background singers. NOT SURE. It is too bad though. 😇Jim

They got split into US and plain English subtitles, one for the intro, the other for the song lyrics

@@robertbiron I think so... unusually she isn't projecting to the audience and I suspect this is because it is all too personal and still painful for her

@@geoffreynorth9046 Exactly, and she turned away from the audience at times perhaps to hide her emotions. When I looked at the lines "My Hell" that James found I started crying, I never want her to experience that.

The massive betrayal ::: was that due to her step-dad leaving the family????
@geoffreynorth90464 ай бұрын
That would be my guess (but I don't think we really know if he's her father or step-father )
@rickrack48124 ай бұрын
@geoffreynorth9046 I'm thinking it is not unless the said betrayal happened in twenty twenty or twenty twenty one. I never did buy into the north sea oil platform story as to His absence. I can only think of one other possibility which is probably more probable.
