Song: Hot Wind Blowing Feat. Ferry Corsten
Artist/Composer: Jamie Christopherson/Ferry Corsten
This song is pretty rad. Seems to be underrated in comparison to the specific boss themes, but i think the song gets right to the point and has a nice Contra feeling. It was easier than the other ones , but with that said enjoy!

Everybody's joking how his theme is just the wind of destruction but personally I think the lyrics is very accurate in showing the meaning of a soldier in war. His just a tool of destruction/defence. He might have his own beliefs and ambitions but nobody's interested in hearing them. He is very similar to Bladewolf. He's a soldier Oh and song is complete banger. My favorite out of all boss themes

Mistral: tortured past never belonging anywhere. Monsoon: experienced the cambodian genocide, and has lost most of his body. Sundowner: born into poverty, barely possessing anything. Samuel never 'truly' joined World Marshall/desperado. after his encounter with Raiden on the train he was working to make him capable for facing Armstrong (after he failed to take him down). -he found out his sword can damage Armstrong's body -he spared Raiden on the train -he awakened 'Jack the ripper' just before encountering Monsoon (that part with the supressed emotions). Raiden later said in several codec conversations that if he didn't do that he would've died to him. -Sam winks at blade wolf just before dying. Blade wolf insists keeping the sword, then gives it to Raiden in the final battle. now even the title makes sense. it doesn't mean anything significant when applied to Raiden. But if applied to sam's actions it makes sense. He takes revenge on Armstrong and World marshall.

I love the meaning behind this song. It tells the POV of a soldier in the Middle East in a war where the soldier is fed bullshit but still completes his duty. Trapped in a place that people only make judgments rather than understand. "I know what I've been told. The wishes of the people can't be controlled." x2. Is my favorite line. :-)

Am I the only one who loves Khamsin as a character? I mean, he's one of the only true characters that attempts to fight for a noble cause. I read a comment back on another video that people should have made a story mode for all non-huge bosses. I think Khamsin's story mode would be very interesting.
@georgesears934

Most Metal Gear final bosses were fighting for good causes in some way, with the only real exceptions in the main series canon being Liquid (just wanted an ego boost), Gene (just a sociopathic war machine who turned against his handlers), and Eli in MGSV (Ego boost again). The rest either fought for freedom (me, Big Boss, Armstrong, Ocelot, and Venom) or global security (Hot Coldman, Zero, and The Boss). Every Metal Gear main villain is morally grey to some degree, it's what makes them all interesting characters.
@markvonahnen9499
@markvonahnen9499 8 жыл бұрын
+George Sears I guess you're right but most of the main bad guys in MGR:R (with the exceptions of Jetstream Sam and The Senator) are downright evil. Khamsin was sort of a breath of fresh air in that sense. Yes, he fought for an evil cause, but he didn't know what he was fighting for. He thought he was fighting for freedom but he was really fighting for a company that harvests children's brains for infantry and was eventually killed by the people he was fighting for for no reason. He's sort of like the American soldier. He wants to fight for a noble cause and thinks that's what he's doing but in truth, he's fighting for a cause that prevents freedom for other countries and he's eventually killed by the enemy and discarded namelessly by the U.S. government.
@georgesears934
@georgesears934 8 жыл бұрын
Michael Von Ahnen Oh, you were just talking about Rising Revengeance? Yeah, everyone there was almost cartoonishly evil. Blade Wolf just selfishly wanted his own freedom and didn't care about anyone else, Sundowner was a straight up sadist, Monsoon was just crazy, and Mistral was a manipulative bitch. Even Senator Armstrong was just a less subtle, more direct, and mores selfish version of me (still in the grey but shifted much closer to black). Yeah, in rising revengeance I can see what you mean about not having enough morally complex characters.
@markvonahnen9499
@markvonahnen9499 8 жыл бұрын
George Sears What made you think the Senator was selfish? I see him as the opposite.
@georgesears934
@georgesears934 8 жыл бұрын
Michael Von Ahnen In that he was going to allow all of the "weak" to get fucked over because he believes only the strongest should survive, and he is part of the strongest. He's selfish because he doesn't care who gets killed by his plan because anyone who survives did so rightfully by his logic. They were weaker and deserved to die because of it according to him. He's not evil because while his views are twisted he genuinely believes they are the morally correct thing to do and from a certain perspective many argue he's right about politicians controlling the world and hold back progress to maintain their own power. He's still grey just not as grey as some earlier examples.

You know, out of all the enemies you face, with the exclusion of Sam. I think Khamsin was one of the few who actually didn't see Wolf in a negative light. Hell, he might've actually befriended wolf, as dozens of stories can attest to, soldiers often become close and treat the dogs they serve alongside with as family. Sure, he was dismissive when first being introduced to blade wolf, and was constantly insulting wolf during his fight. However, after he realized that Blade wolf could speak and had a semblance of sentience. He pounded his chest in greeting to wolf, and spoke in a tone of comradery to him. Also him insulting blade wolf during the boss fight is a natural response, especially for one such as Khamsin who obviously believes in his "noble cause" to such a high degree.

Can you people please stop spamming comments with this Hulk VS Doomsday crap? This song is about soldiers who go and blindly follow orders, taken from a pretty good (at least in my opinion) spin-off slasher action game in Metal Gear series, not two giants mashing each other. This song sure deserves a better attention.

It's kind of funny how the song ended up fitting more for Blade Wolf than Khamsin after the DLC "Just like the buffalo, blindly following the herd" - Blade wolf before Raiden captured him, was forced to follow orders without thinking about them "The wishes of the people can't be controlled." - Doktor reprogrammed Wolf, freeing him from Desperado's programming "Freedom is calling to all men who bend their will." - Ironically, Khamsin was right in that you can force freedom on others. Raiden did so by overpowering Wolf and beating him in a fight. "Dirty and Faceless, waiting to heed your instruction" - Blade wolf, under Maverick, gained a mask, and generally played subordinate to Raiden "On my own, invisible warrior, I am a Wind of Destruction!" He ended up doing solo scout duty for most of the game, and his fighting style in the DLC, as well as presumably what he did off screen in the main game, fits the fast-paced combat style of the other winds of destruction better than Khamsin. "We fight for justice, in a forgotten place. Fulfill our duty, then vanish without a trace." - Literally what happens in the main game.
@SliverEmperor

Honestly, that fits the main game's songs too - they can easily apply to Raiden just as well as the bosses they're "meant" for.

No blade wolf has his "my own master now". Khamsin was a US soldier tricked by World Marshall that they were liberating Abkhazia (while they were destabilizing) the song fits well since he was never a front soldier and always a goon fighting for his country and freedom and yet he doenst know shit and gets disposed off by Mistral for shits and giggles. So yes he is dirty and faceless.

@TheFirstCurse1

Honestly it's supposed to mean something else entirely. You may not fully get what this song is about. "We fight for justice" is ironic because they're actually going against justice. They fight and tear apart countries for oil and money, all because they were manipulated by the US (or some other) government into believing that it's for "freedom" and "justice". "In a forgotten place" could be referring to the fact that most wars that America (and Russia alongside other countries) overthrow and devour governments in countries that they know are generally not cared about because they can get away with it. For example look at South America, or the whole War Against "Communism". "Fulfill our duty" the only duty of these soldiers is to fight and die for a rich man to get even richer, and for their country to become even more powerful. It's not like WWII where people are fighting to stop evil from literally taking over the world, yet they're brainwashed into believing it is. "Then vanish without a trace" the soldiers fight in a country they know nothing about for something they don't understand. They lie dying in the sand, surrounded by strangers, thinking about their loved ones and how they'll never see them again. And guess what? Their desecrated body is shipped back to the US (or whatever country they're fighting for or from) to their families, who might be able to see his fallen body one last time before sealing it beneath the ground forever. The soldier becomes yet another statistic that the government couldn't care less about. The government manipulates and makes empty promises to these young men, who then have everything taken from them for no reason other than money and power.

One3673241 does have a point in this song's representation of America. "The buffalo blindly following the herd" - U.S. soldiers forced to follow orders, and citizens enslaved to the status quo and never thinking outside the box. "Justify what has occurred" - find an excuse for the atrocities that we undoubtedly commit in our own homeland and abroad. Without a compass, the soldier knows no disgrace" - soldiers that have no morality, that kill to sate a perverted thirst for bloodshed. "Out of the ashes, the eagle rises still" - Despite all odds, America will prevail in the face of any crisis. "Freedom is calling to all men who bend their will" - Freedom isn't free. For a nation to gain or keep freedom, some of its people must give up theirs and fight for everyone else. "Here I am, dirty and faceless," - again, enlisted soldiers "Waiting to heed your instruction" - trained to follow orders, regardless of their result "On my own, invisible warrior" - a few begin to think independently, and go rogue, "I am a Wind of Destruction!" - ultimately making a name for themselves "We fight for justice, in a forgotten place" - A group fights for their ideals, even knowing that they will not be remembered, "Fulfill our duty, and vanish without a trace" - because they've always known it as the right thing to do. "Don't need a medal for all the men we've killed" - Knowing that they have spilt copious amounts of blood to defend their ideals, they don't want to be rewarded for such violence. "Freedom is calling to all men who bend their will!" - They knew what they wanted, and that they had to fight for it, so they did. I understand that a lot of this might be very confusing, but the rapid shift in my lyrical interpretations directly runs parallel to many people's different views of America. Some see it as a tyrannical and oppressive force of corruption, and others see it as a bastion of light in a darkened world desperate for revival. I am merely giving my spin on all of it.

To Turtlepuff69, I didn't just glorify Americans and the waging of war. I pointed out a *potential* interpretation of the song. No matter how you put it, the song is clearly CRITICIZING America by exposing our collective desire to spread "freedom" through increasingly brutal and despotic means, regardless of the repercussions. Just like Khamsin, who thought you could force freedom on others, when "It must be earned for one's self."

I always think of the Aliens vs Predator video game (2010) when I hear the lyrics "On my own Invisible warrior I am a wind of destruction" , it reminds me of the campaigns of each of the characters; Rookie: "On my own" for the most part of his story, he was truly on his own to reach his goal to rescue Tequiela and escape the colony. Dark: "Invisible warrior" , as most obvious he is a yautja with access to advanced tech and one of that being his cloaking technology to turn invisible and hunt down his prey. 6" "I am a wind of destruction" The species of the xenomorph were most likely biologically engineered for the absolute purpose of war and destruction of whatever species it is unleashed upon.

I never played Metal Gear Rising, but my roommate did. I listen to your music regardless. Keep it up.

You missed the entire point of the song, then. The whole point of the song is to tell about how powerless and blind you really are as just a tool of the military.

Also "Invisible Warrior", Blade Wolf had more emphasis on stealth in his gameplay, and he gets optical camo before his fight with Sam.
