Angelo Mathews became the first batter to be given timed out in International Cricket. This incident occured in the Sri lanka vs Bangladesh match in ICC World Cup 2023.
What is TIMED OUT rule in CRICKET ??
After the dismissal, next batter must reach the crease within 2 minutes of the previous dismissal. If he failed to reach the crease, he will be declared out. Angelo mathews had an issue with his helmet, he asked for a replacement and failed to reach the crease within 2 minutes. He tried to explain the issue with Shakib al hasan, but he refused to take the appeal back. He was given OUT. Angelo mathews returned very angrily.
