Back when AVA released this documentary, my buddy and I went to the screening in San Diego, and he saw me in one of the crowd shots and screamed @ the screening "DUDE THAT'S YOU!" Pretty crazy and I didn't believe him until the DVD came out, but lo and behold... We were right up front for this show, and I'm the tall guy in the white t-shirt singing along from 3:30-3:34 when Tom holds the mic out to the crowd for the call and response bridge. Pretty Epic if you ask me... Fucking the Gift man...

I totally agree with Tom. The music being produced today is nothing what it was about a decade ago. It's all sloppy and sounds like it was all computer made. It's not real music. I honestly wish there would be more bands like Angels & Airwaves. And I really wish AVA would bring back their old sound from their first two albums. Those are honestly some of the best albums I've heard. I still think the 90s and early 2000s had the best music of any era.
@timsimon89953 жыл бұрын
It's only worse now. But at least there's some punk or pop punk hitting the mainstream again. I go to skate parks and young punks are playing shitty mumble rap. Bring back the 80s and 90s

Great cover, and awesome guitars!
@Lonnie_Johnson9 жыл бұрын
This song was performed completely live during the concert. For the DVD 'Start The Machine' the songs used were edited. So yes this video has computer corrected vocals. Tom was never a perfect singer and I respect however he chooses to perform these songs they're great nontheless. And 90% of the music you hear today have enhanced vocals.

@XxSpRiTeZzxX It isn't autotune, it's more a sort of vocal enhancer or something like that, he would sound like a robot if he was on auto tune and he does hit the odd bum note

tom's saying all at the usa tour 09 ''i'm tom,i'm gonna be playing a show and i'm gonna be awesome and i'm singing out of key and playing out of time cause that's what i do'' and that is the reason i like tom delonge

The reason he's singing off key is he's trying to preserve his voice. Especially when he does a whole bunch of shows. It sounds like it's so strained so its probably at the end of the tour of he's sick

Nah, he's just doped out of his mind.

@sandihume15 жыл бұрын
The thing that for me, confirmed that Tom DeLonge is a genuine musician is this part 4:27 onwards Now that is coming from his heart; that cannot be acted. All the criticisms of his lack of vocal confidence/skill and lyrical ability in Blink and AVA are diminished
@newageopinions87010 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, their is few bands you could compare AVA with, but is it me, or do I hear just a little U2ish in this song!
@snatchman6910 жыл бұрын
Its gotta be the clean delay :)
@magicD5310 жыл бұрын
Correct ^ Tom and Edge use a lot of clean delay, even same delay time and everything
@Pieman671110 жыл бұрын
they said they draw a lot of influence from pink floyd and U2, as well as other bands. so yes, there is that delayed guitar riff that is reminiscent to U2! :)

@Cheerios4u9813 жыл бұрын
@zito75fan75 Look, I'll be the first to defend AVA saying they sound a million times better in person than on a bootlegged KZbin video, but bootlegs don't manipulate Tom's voice to make him miss a million notes, and that's what he did in the video I watched, and most videos I've watched, and all three times I've seen him in concert.
