Angels & Airwaves - Young London(DC Drum Cover)

If you know me pretty well you will know i am a massive fan of blink 182, as i am
also a massive fan of Atom Willard. You put these two together and you
get the main reason for covering this song.
What i love the most about this track is that there is no drop in feel.
From Beginning to end the song is upbeat and powerful, thus making it incredible amounts of fun to play along to. Although the snare hits are pretty tight and consistent throughout the song, i feel there was a lot more room to throw different types of fills/cymbal hits into the mix, but again, batteries/disk space had priority.
The one thing i admire when watching Atom play live wherever its on youtube or in concert is his power and respect for music. He also hits the drums harder that anyone i have seen before.
Back in 2006 when i saw them at Give it a name in Manchester, Tom apologised for a short delay as they had to start bolting down his drum set to the riser due to two cymbal stands that were sent flying across the stage.

He has overheads for his cymbals, you can't put microphones on separate cymbals. If anything, he needs to turn up the overheads and EQ his snare.. a lot.

if you miss the right settings of the mics, like in this video, you can make an OCDP drumset with Zildjian cymbals sound like crap....whata a waste
