I've been watching your videos for awhile. Thank you very much! I'm finally commenting because I'd like to contribute some semantic shenanigans. That is, when you say angels do not have substance, I would interpret that to mean they do not have matter. I understand substance, form, essence and matter from my human perspective. That is, while we all share in the form of humanness, we have matter to account for the several "copies." Furthermore, we're able to distinguish between each copy because there is something more. There is an essence to each individual. There are no "copies" of angels. Therefore, matter is not needed to account for that. And since there is no matter, we might think there is no essence, because essence is how we distinguish individuals from each other. No matter, no individuation, no essence. But we can know substances have essence from their impression on us, not solely because we need it to construct an ontological framework that accounts for our ability to distinguish one particular substance from other copies or instantiations. So, we can know the essence of an angel and there are no copies. Therefore, what makes an angel what it is and nothing else is the same thing. Their essence is their form, which is incorporeal. But not lacking substance, I think then, it may not be.

Any person can turn into an angel, yet they wouldn't know, when Hashem wants to send you a message. We need to pay more attention in our interactions.
