I always watched this with my late Mum and Nana, happier times they were.

HI there, I played Janet Dickens for 2 years in the series (1981,82 and part 83) I have some of the series on tape but not sure how good the quality is now. Good to hear that people enjoyed it! Michelle Martin
@nickforbes-warren66026 жыл бұрын
Michelle Martin?! You've triggered a memory. I had a signed photo of you from then, I wrote you a fan letter! I recall it was filmed in Birmingham, where I used to live!! I live in Wales now. And have done some work towards Casualty supplying scaffolding equipment, in a related breaking news topic!

Fantastic titles, from the very end of the era that managed to synchronise the action with the theme music with lots of 'glow' and not a computer in sight!
@amigachris2 жыл бұрын
one version did have some early CGI transition effects.

I think you will find a computer is involved here in some way.

Remember this theme very well, because if memory serves, it was on right before either Star Trek or Blakes Seven in 1979/1980. (I think it was Star Trek.) So I used to watch the end credits every week!

Yep, I get it. It just did it to me again this week, no reason and I'd forgotten where it was from. I just took a guess, and here I am. Great tune, but bloody annoying. I used to watch it back in the day, not voluntarily, I was too young to have control of the TV back then.

This takes me back. TV was so good in those days, and only 3 channels too :-)

By 1983 this was set in Birmingham. The ambulance at the beginning has a west mis health authority logo and much of the fiming was done in Birmingham hospitals. I cant remember why they moved ........

Was that the version with or without the tits in the intro montage? My grandad really liked the girl bronzing her boobs at the start..

If you ever want to find a copy of that, look for a piece called "Heartsong" by Gordon Giltrap.

Remember the theme tune. What shocked me the most was this started in the seventies, not the eighties. The original theme was slow. So glad that i got the two seriesbof the 70s version.
@jacquidicks24668 жыл бұрын
+Gary Hunt This is the only theme tune I remember! It could be I was too young to watch it in the 70's, though it could just be that I just don't remember !
@communityrags60482 жыл бұрын
Slower but funkier. This represents the 80s, the other one represents the 70s, very well
@WallyPyneoil4 ай бұрын
@@jacquidicks2466 It was largely a very different style of programme 1975-1978. Became a part-time soap in 1979 and lost something quite important IMHO, although I always found it quite boring.

@ryalman21 Yes, less was better and sorry to sound so technical, but it was only two channels really, since bbc was split into 2 wasn't it, the more general bbc1 and the more educational bbc2 and all before the massive event of ch4. But yes, a lot of what showed then gives me goosebumps now, very haunting and memory provoking.

@jane19752 жыл бұрын
I remember a Nurse in Casualty killing herself, don’t recall one in Angels. Casualty was good until it was turned into a soap in the early 00’s. I lost interest in it when they killed off Baz ( Charlie’s first wife ).

@terrycharnley Ah no. that's just being pedantic. True BBC1 and BBC2 were run by the same company, but they were still 2 separate channels. Add ITV and you had the Big 3 that existed in the UK during the golden age of TV. I guess you don't work for a cable TV company? As they exaggerate about the number of channels all the time. So do SKY. I mean if you get a package of 200 channels, how many are shopping channels :-) Not real TV at all.
@eddief3210 жыл бұрын
Just one question.. how did you manage to get a direct copy of the BBC O/P with the TCD in the corner? If that's not direct output, then someone has a BETACAM module somewhere with a linear timecode generator on it.

Boring programme. And why did they keep the St Angela's Hospital logo for two years after the setting had been phased out? Heath Green was even more boring.
