I was in a relationship with a 39 year-old man and I'm 22. I thought he loved me,but i was so wrong. He told me he did but i know he didn't,he only wanted me for my body, and not for what was in my mind or heart. He broke my heart into a million pieces. I am extremely hurt. I'm up early and hurting. I'm sorry to hear he broke your heart love. I will say this as a survivor of having my heart shattered that it gets better...it truly does. You recognized that he didn't love you before you invested all your 20's on someone who clearly could not love you the way you deserved so you have stepped in the right direction for YOU! Keep ya head up beautiful and trust me there is light at the end of the tunnel. Focus on you, truly heal and learn from this as to why and how he came into your life. The song written by Mick Hucknall of Simply Red was originally written when he was 17 in the late 70's and is about breaking free from what he knows and venturing out on his own. It was originally recorded by his first band (a punk band) called the Frantic Elevators. He added to chorus and put it on Simply Red's first album Picture Book in 1985. If you don't know Simply Red I'd highly recommend you look them up. The perfect mix of Soul, Jazz, Funk, and Pop. This version by Angie Stone is very good. The Isley Brothers also did a version
