My favourite ruins in the world!! I surprised myself by getting up to see dawn on all 3 days i spent there. The area is so massive and amazing usually I get "templed out" after one full day but there is quite a bit of variety so it is very interesting. Highly recommended. Cambodians are such lovely people as well. Happy Travels

Im khmer born in U.S love how you actually support the local tourist guides and interact with them. I can say this is one of the few videos I've seen that actually gave a tour guy a chance and I think its only somewhere around 10 dollars so they're not making a killing.I salute you. Not all poor people in Cambodia are bad or out to scam you. They're just trying to make a honest living and real down to earth people. Subcribed and thanks for being interested in our culture and your kindness. God bless

I’ve been there many times but she’s always amazed me every time. Never gets tired of visiting her and it feels so mythical and magical. So amazing, people all around the world needs to visit her. Highly recommended. By The Way, I like to have the tour guide name and number please cuz I like his translation and his knowledge of the Khmer history. Next year I go, I like to have him as my tour guide. Thanks

After seeing this video I decided to contact Sareth for a guided tuk tuk tour in Angkor Wat. We are from Spain and for our surprise, Sareth spoke Spanish pretty well. He was an amazing guide, punctual, funny and kind. He knows his way around very well. He answered all our questions and showed us very cool spots that were less busy. I can't recommend him enough! Thanks for sharing this very insightful video!!

By the way: Three hundred thousand men and 6000 elephants were involved in the construction of Angkor Wat (according to the inscriptions). There are 7 volumes of inscriptions documented/translated by the French archeologists. All inscriptions are in Khmer and Sanskrit. Angkor Wat was built on the behest of King Suryavarman II. There is subterranean water running under Angkor wat. So that along with the big moat surrounding it, you can say that Angkor wat is floating like a ship.

This video brings back lots of wonderful memories. We were there in December 2022 and fell in love with Siem Reap. Ta Prom is an amazing temple to see. We went to a temple called Beng Mealea (aka The Titanic or the sinking temple) it's a 66km drive from Angkor Wat and it is also a must see. As it is a bit of a drive from Angkor Wat, you don't have to share it with many people at all. Pete, our tour guide Tola and myself had the whole complex to ourselves while we were there. They are not going to restore this temple, they are going to let nature do its thing. Cambodian people are so amazing as well.❤🙏

Carvings on Angkor Wat’s bas-relief showed the ethnic Thai and other mercenaries working for the Khmer King. And you can also see the Ancient Khmer Martial Art like Bokator and Kun Khmer etc. in action too.

Wow, what a nice tour, you have covered most of the important temples in that area so far. Let me give some unexpected discoveries about the Angkor Wat template. This temple is covering an area of more than 1.6 square kilometers (400 acres), it is made of something like 10 million individual stone blocks more than four times as many blocks as the Great Pyramid of Giza and weighing up to 1.5 tons each, brought to the site from a quarry 40Km (25 miles) to the northeast. The massive moat around the temple was not just a barrier protecting the complex, but an architectural feature specifically designed to reduce the pressure pushing outwards from the enormous accumulation of stone. Without this moat, Angkor Wat would have collapsed many years ago. Angkor Wat holds many more mysteries than we think. Archaeologists have pointed out that the carving and its placement within the complex were not an accident. Some carving and layout was situated to act as a sort of giant equinox calendar, star constellation alignment, the design layout of the 9 planets, an advanced water system, the trace of solar energy devices and a power grid, a hidden underground chamber, and carvings of animals long extinct like dinosaur, elephants with four-tusk, and more xD These are the types of questions that lead many to believe that the mystery of Angkor Wat might go much further than mainstream science is currently willing to accept, much further even, than anyone imagined.

What he told you that Ho Chi Minh was part of Khmer Krom is actually true because Ho Chi Minh were called Prey Nokor, and the Khmer Krom was our oldest territory, which located our ancient port. About claiming the territory back is impossible because it has already recognized by the world’s system already. These are the reason why some Khmer people are scared of losing things anymore because they’ve had enough of it.

I am Cambodian and I had not visited Angkor Wat until I was 22 years old. I must say I was so thrilled and proud of my own ancestors. Through histories, I must say I am saddened by the fact that my ancestors were busy building the empire but forgot to nurture strong and intellectual successors which leads the empire to civil war and destruction after their fall. 😢

Fico imaginando como essas estruturas não desabam, porque são só apenas pedras montadas sem argamassa.

Thanks mate :) I’m glad you’re tagging along. The number I provide in the description should work though not via text if it’s from Australia. Are you able to contact him via WhatsApp via that same number? I know he’s not guiding in the same area anymore but I’m sure he can help you further with a suitable guide over there :)
