Love these videos. Talented, professional pilot. Explanation of the AOA indicator was top notch.

Your videos showcase flying with skill in a way that few others do. Good info on the AoA, and what it means for flying! Watching your videos over the last year or so has helped me to stay motivated to argue my case with the FAA to give me my medical back! Thanks!

Cool video, thanks. I've always watch your videos looking at the AoA indicator, and now that they are explained, I can enjoy more all of them.

Notice there is little if no "float" during his round out because he is not using his airspeed indicator as a guage to determine his approach. Rather, he is relying on how much lift he has available by using his AOA indicator. It's no wonder why people who fly Mooneys land long with excess airspeed during the round out. Their final approach speed is too fast under the circumstances. Then, they add extra airspeed for wind gusts for "just in case". They end up using more runway than necessary for the misconceived notion that "extra airspeed" is necessary safety. It is not. It's probably less safe to come in hot than to come in at the proper AOA all the way to the ground.
