Thank youuuuu. For some reason, my geo teacher didn't feel the need to inform us that the angle of elevation and angle of depression are equal which is vital to solving the problems.

literally my teacher doesn't tell us anything because "it's supposed to prepare you for the future"

It's just that I get tired of the sugar coating...the stories...the superman imaging...I also tend to want perfection...if I hear the word cosine or sine pronounced wrong...I move on...terrible aren't I? I believe it's important to walk the talk of perfection when teaching...thanks for responding

Thanks for sharing could you please help me understand this problem. What is the horizontal angle in the following problem: A balloonist at an altitude of 226m observed the angles of depression of one point on the ground as 2 deg. , and of another point as 3 deg. The horizontal angle between the lines of sight to the two points is 80 deg. What is the distance between the two points? Definitely the two points are very close but where is this angle .

"If you're depressed, you lower your line of sight." That one *didn't* hit hard lol. I am definitely not depressed. (•_•˘)
