Another very intresting video with a great finish. There was a snag after appearing at the start of the new season years ago on my local salmon river right in the middle of the best spot. Every angler was getting stuck in it, snapping and loosing their baits. After a few days i ended up stuck in it myself. The snag gods were on my side this day as i pulled and pulled i felt the snag move i kept pulling and until the day i die i will never forget the sight of the snag coming out of the river. Somebody threw a Christmas tree into the river and it was the nicest Christmas tree i ever seen. It was covered in every kind of spinner, toby, flying c, silver sprats, you name it, it was hanging off the tree, and best bit was none of them were in the river long enough to rust. Nicest Christmas tree i ever seen.

Hey Robbie love your videos . The go pro takes me right there , which sadly is as about as close as I can seem to get nowadays. Thanks for keeping the dream alive to get a fishing rod in my hand again instead of the bloody iPad. 😄

Hey mate thanks heaps for your kind words. It's hard for most people to get out fishing as often as I do. I'm very lucky to live in such a great part of the world. I work enough to stay afloat and not much more. LOL I could pick up more hours at work but that would buy into my fishing time. LOL Fishing is a higher importance to me than being rich. Thanks for your kind message mate.

Great video as usual robbie. Have you got any tips for catching trout in very shallow clear water? Haven't had rain for a couple months here in wales uk. But dyin to get out and get trout for the pot just not very successful tbh. Any help and tips would be appreciated

Great tips and tricks mate! gona try some drifting and dropshotting next time im out, usually im casting and retriving lures but they aint going for it no more in the winter
@noleafclover40997 жыл бұрын
Hey Robbie; Can you tell which rod do you use when you fishing for trout on creecks? Your straight castings(I mean without swinging the rod, just moving straight upside a little) are very accurate. I am looking for a budget rod which is capable for that kind of casting.

Hey bud! all you need is a lightweight rod :)

Do you let the worms sink to the bottoms or do you keep them in the middle of the water

Hi Robbie. Thanks for the videos! I need to remove some trout from a pond and planning to use worms. What size hook would you use for brown trout 7"-12" long? You seem to be able to remove hooks easily. Are you using barbed hooks or barbless? Thanks!
@robbiefishing2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, if you're hoping to remove them and gut hooking doesn't matter, then the smaller the hooks the better.
@wingman26462 жыл бұрын

Hey Robbie, was going to take the Girlfriend fishing (for the first time) i assume the river around Buxton are flooded beyond the fishable point? would impoundments be a better place to introduce the Girlfriend to trout fishing?

used to fish the Abercrombie river in NSW as a kid. good times!
@robbiefishing8 жыл бұрын
G'day mate, all of the creeks and rivers are high but unless they're in major flood you should still be able to catch a trout in them on worms. At the same time....the Eildon Pondage is always worth a crack mate!
@nicholashand88038 жыл бұрын
thanks, went out fished Kyneton area then ducked across over to the river just west of Mia Mia. great looking river. but unfortunately lures don't manage to attract anything. will wait until the water level drops and try again.

Aren't you supposed to have the work in a natural position, straight, with some curves. Run the hook up the worm and turn it around, weedless. They like it even better.
