Hi great informative video as usual. I looked at buying one of these then chose the Map 4 wheel trolley. The fact you can buy an xxl bag for the front of the trolley allows you to be able to store the matrix xl side tray and your 3 net stink bag creates more space on the frame. Also on the Map trolley your box is locked in by 2 adjustable arms so no chance of it toppling off. I use mine with 1 bungee strap to secure the rods and it's great

Bought the Daiwa trolley in the end. So solid and a great fold away design. worth every penny, specially if you have a trek to your peg!

I’ve had one for a year now and it’s ok but with a few mods it can be improved, firstly the lovely screw knobs that hold it together do vibrate out on longer walks especially with places like the dam wall at Bough Beech, so the wheels changed to stainless standard bolts with a bit of lock tight, also the wheels I drilled out the nylon bushes and installed bearings as I found it to be heavy when fully loaded plus additional washers to take out the slop. As various other knobs fell out I have changed most of them to quick release indexers a simple job of putting the let’s say wheel leg arm in position drilling a hole into the arm and screwing the indexer in, then to pack away it’s a simple pull the knob to remove the leg. I also put my box on the far end it’s a better balance also it doesn’t fit at the handle end. Nice vid

I bought the Penrose XL barrow. A great bit of kit as it can double up as a platform if you need to use one and also, if you take the handles off and park it behind your box, it serves as a large table which will hold a stack of stuff. One of the best bits of kit I’ve purchased. Enjoying the vids Ben, keep em coming mate 👍🏼

Nice video ! After checking the competition I bought one of these trolleys over a year ago when I realised my ever growing fishing kit was now killing my knees and back . It’s the best thing I have bought for years . You have a couple of things wrong in your video (which I’m sure you would realise with more use). Put your box on first (back of the box to the front of the trolly). It stabilises the trolly stopping it tipping up from the back . Adjust the front bumper and side brackets to fit your box . My Preston Inception box fits perfectly , I’m sure your Matrix box will fit better ! Once the brackets are adjusted there’s almost no need to ever move them ever again , even to put the trolley away . It all fits back in the bag . I agree with your comment about the wheels , but I have had no issues with mine yet . But I’m sure that some bright spark will come up with a modification with bearings to fit as they have with the Preston trolleys should the need arrive in the future (they might even fit these wheels). Clinchers for buying this trolley for me was that all the parts are available from Matrix should I lose a locking hand wheel or something , and the bag is great for stopping mud in your boot . A bit expensive yes - but big , solid and well made , no hesitation in recommending this bit of kit .

The box goes on the front of the trolley, not the back. And you can buy the adapter for the front of the trolley to take the H frame box.

Great video, I have the same trolley box combo, also no instructions supplied, however I believe the box is designed to sit at the front of the trolley, resulting in no need to adjust the legs. Biggest problem I have found is that the trolley supports the XR36 Comp by the footplate only, this allows flex/bounce in the h-frame/legs.... have also noticed that some matrix sponsored guys have modified the front bracket on their trollies to eliminate this.

The box sits the other end of the trolley between the bar with the yellow tabs on the ends you can extend this bar so it sits tight to the trolley and it fits without any issues. also there are plastic tabs under the box which align exactly with the frame.

Preston made adaptors for their trolley so their new Hbox seatbox would sit flat then you can extend the footplate and fill the space, i bought a new map h frame box and trolley and discovered the same issue. I phoned Map and there was a discussion during development but some thought people would carry the map lite box so may not need a trolley. Total nonsense.. I have put a bar across the back legs as low as i can and added some wood taped to the bar so it sits on the trolley better. This was a short term solution which Im still living with. The map trolley has a massive net bag on the front which i can fit my large matrix tray in as well Because these H FRAME boxes don’t have a bar on the back just an empty space they will not sit square on a trolley unless there is some adaption as in the Preston one. I find it lazy and disappointing that they do this and the sponsored anglers should have more input

Great Video Ben. 1st of all I totally agree with you regarding the lack of assembly instructions. I am 80% Matrix gear with the Pro36 Box etc but no instructions is rubbish. even a small video would have been nice. Also the question of wheel wobble worries me. Not for now but in the future. Positive comments, Great looking, Very flexible (Short or Long option, Great idea with the storing Bag. I would rate it 2nd to the MAP X4 barrow which I feel beats it on simple assembly, Comes with a Bag and most importantly has NOT got wobbly wheels and is £60 cheaper. Well done for the demo. Cheers

I hated the Map trolley and had to buy some extensions to be able to push it, fine if you’re 5’ tall , I so,d it and got a bargain on a Rive transporter, the best next to the frenzee hgv, it’s nice to actually see you get it back in the bag, mine never went in properly with bits poking out everywhere, I also love those strap’s they’re very similar to the old Boss straps, it’s a shame they haven’t got a carabiner fitting which is much safer, I also wouldn’t fancy getting on my hands and knees every time just to hook the straps up that’s a very poor design carried over from map

Looks a good trolley, with a great honest review Ben. Really liking the wider wheels on it. I got to ask have tried putting your box at the front, over the front wheels with the bags toward the rear much like PI Shuttle layout? Like a Bungee cords but at £15 I’ll stick the my Poundland ones best yet I’ve come across yet 👍

Bought a Matrix trolley a couple of months ago. Have used it twice and on the second time a nut on the frame came away from the frame. Only advice offered is return it to the shop to get a new part. I have the nut but the welding is terrible. A friend has the same trolley and he has had 4 nuts fall off.

Interested to see how you fit the washers as spaces to the trolley wheels, as I have a very similar problem with the wheels on the Map 4 trolley so the cart wobbles just as yours did. To be honest it doesn’t affect the performance or handling but with a washer fitted will stop the sideways movement.

good to watch ben ,ive just bought the same transporter myself ,noticed when you packed the trolley back in its case ,you had the wheels sitting in-between trolley base and its handles ,if you look in the case there are pockets made for storing the wheels ,what i put in first ,then all the other parts on top ,just trying to be a bit helpful and as you say ,would be better with some sort of instructions ,so we didn't have to work things out ourselves

Had one of these for over a year now,fantastic piece of kit , I like the idea you can pack it away, It does take a few turns til you put it together correctly and put it away, I've had maver trolleys ,koala,preston,not as good. This is strong and looks good. I got my bungees off ebay, Ben should of put the wheels at the bottom, there is two pockets for the wheels, My box fits on the end with the green attachments that fit any box, they are adjustable, Great bit if kit, mine has only two clips per side for the bungees, Maver make the bungees that Ben has, they come of there trolleys, I find these a bit small for my gear Mine are car bungees, reinforced ones...

Isn’t the box supposed to go over the front wheels? Then you can put everything else in between the box and the handle bars? Is this a heavy trolley?

If you use Starlock , locking washers then they don't drop off the axle when you remove the wheels .

Another great review Ben. Why didn’t you put your box at the front of the trolly? I’ve got the Map 4 wheel trolley which is very good and looks remarkably similar. With the box on the front the legs may just sit outside the wheels. Thanks for the review and tight lines.

All the ones that I have seen, including the Map, which is the same trolley, the box section which the wheel axle attaches too bends out of shape, although the Matrix back back is brilliant and fits the Preston 4 wheel shuttle. Both the Matrix and the Map, could have been very good if the would have used a tougher steel box, rather than soft and Maliable

@@Angling4U I've got the other trolly/box add on 1 and its a pain to put up and down 4 times, so looking for a 4-wheeler. Like you, i don't like how loose the wheels wobble when pushed. You'll have to show us the différance once you've added the washers mate.

The problem with multi-wheel transporters is that they are prone to tipping sideways on anything other than level ground. You can adjust/compensate for this with a barrow-type transporter with a large single wheel.

Wheels to small and to wide picks up mud, 6 months in started to rust and my final moan was one of the front wheels that attach to the trolley which inserts into the frame literally peeled the metal back... Bad weld and to thin... Cheap metal from China.... Best point is the bag at back excellent fitted it to the Preston trolley 👍

I will trying the Matrix or the MAP next , Sold my Preston Shuttle to get the Frenzee HGV mk3, i have had 2 of them and both of them had the wheels fold outwards, what a load of 💩, 1st one used 3 times, then the 2nd one collapsed 1st time of using Cheap thin steel and welds non existent, What a mistake selling the Preston and the Frenzee going back to back to Nathans for exchange this week,

Personally I prefer the map X4 barrow the extra front bag really is very helpful for carrying keepnet bags not to mention got mine 2nd hand for £60 just needing some TLC... Isn't the front arms designed to support the seatbox so it sits better?

Don’t do it. The welds break and the handle has too many parts so every time you put it back together you struggle to get the holes lined up. Where you clamp with the screws the box section crushes. I’m tossing mine and buying a MAP.
