Hi happy new year to you too! i generally use 25-30g..but may switch to a larger spoon if current is strong and its deeper than areas i usually fish (usually, I fish fairly shallow areas and heavy spoons bottom out easily and snag). so ideally you want to keep an eye on the water conditions and change the spoon size/weight accordingly...there's no one "ideal" size really...

So in general, i don't ask anyone for location and any questions about location are ignored. if you have access to google maps-earth/half a brain and the internet...there's no excuse for you not to be able to find your own spots.
