Pandas, like most bears, are in fact omnivores that primarily are supposed to eat meat, but decided to nerf themselves by eating bamboo. It’s why they eat so much of the stuff, it barely has any nutritional value for them.

Short Answer, yes. Panda's are supposed to eat Salmon actually, they eat Bamboo because they are lazy and have terrible eye sight for fishing, but in turn their primary bamboo diet is bad for them.

Seeing a lot of panda misinformation here, so i'm going to step in and set the record straight. Yes, pandas ARE omnivores like all other bears... HOWEVER! The panda diet of bamboo is not because of domestication or specialization or poor choices or anything like that. Pandas eat bamboo because pandas decided as a group to go vegan back in the 60s. I know this because i am a panda.
