I find it really strange that Piglette’s can’t wear hats normally like their male counterparts Is it because they are considered a completely different type of pig? Is it possible to fix the hats?

They’re practically the same thing. Same animations all. Just Piglettes have makeup and eyelashes. Golden Pigs can also wear the headwear. I’m not sure if it sticks over their head though.

Honestly don't like the fact that there are piglettes, I always viewed pigs as gender neutral, plus the sound effects for them are pretty bad anyways
