Angry Birds GO!!! (tm) was a game that was good, allegedly. Then it became garbage doo-doo butter thanks to a string of failures that the developer, Rovio, committed.
Baby, Angry Birds used to be great, GREAT!!! it was the very thing that started my downward spiral to become a nerd -- not even Touhou, nor Sonic, nor Mario nor Spy x Family could do the same for me. Colorful birds, green pigs and ham, and marketable toys started the trend for me! :(

Thanks for talking about this game! It's a shame that Rovio couldn't keep with the free 2 play market and ended up like now. Go! always was somewhat grindy (the original version also had energy bars for every character) but the 2.0 update definitely ruined the game. I hope you eventually review the other spin-offs, AB Stella always has been one of my favorites. It's usually disregarded as "Angry Birds for girls" but the game had so many creative mechanics, and both itself and the animated series were crafted with such passion that I can forgive its weird implementation of microtransactions.

holy mackeral this game was honestly probably the best AB spinoff Rovio made. I loved Epic a lot but Go just had such a charm despite its frustrations (I don't think I ever beat the Chuck race). The Rovio franchise back then had a run with their Angry Birds ip, having good games all across the mobile franchise and all that with games like Epic, Stella, Go, etc. And then they decided to turn themselves into a money hungry company, greed so high they put monetizations to everything. And this is far worse than gacha games nowdays because at least with gacha games, their target audience are teenagers to adults, with mostly adults as the targets for the monetization part. Angry Birds is a franchise with its biggest target audience being kids, as its majority. What the hell Rovio...

Their shift towards Greedy EA behavior mainly comes from: 1. The realization that they did everything with the slingshot formula and AB started to die out... First, they made AB GO! as their first experiment, that went extremely well... Except their 3D models 2. Another realization that so much cash was slipping from their hands with their "generous" offers. AB Stella, if I can recall, was the first game that required waiting/paying to progress further. And then AB Stella POP introduced lives system, and then AB 2... Where the player was punished for just trying to spontaneously beat the unfair, randomly generated, multiphase stages, you lose all lives, you can no longer play single-player until you wait/pay Did I mention that Rovio begins to use AI to create new AB 2 costumes for birds?

I have fond memories playing this game when i was younger on my old tablet. I remember when starting out in the Stunt coures you would be so fast that the starting cart you would use literally tore apart from the sheer velocity you were going at. Also remember replaying the first course over and over just to keep doing half a loop da loop on a part of the map and occasionally using stella, King pig, or bubbles powers right after i fall of the top and watch chaos insue. Years later i came back to the game to find it in shambles and part of my childhood now gone for the foreseeable future and the franchise i had loved now rotting in a trash can for years to come.

Also, there was a country known as Belgium that bans Gacha games/games with lootboxes because it is believed to encourage gambling towards kids, so Mario Kart Tour falls under that category, therefore it's banned on that country. I'm glad you made an analysis video explaining how it was like, and how it is now. Mobile games nowadays are just as sucky as KZbin content farm channels, they have no soul, no charm, no spirit, just want your money. Angry Birds was a passion franchise that slowly evolved into a greedy franchise. The old games were great treasures, which were now forgotten or hidden gems. Go, Transformers and Epic were where the franchise peaked, imo. Go! was an exciting racing title that proved to be a challenge to master but worth the pain and strain, at least until the update made it intolerable. Transformers has a simple system which is quick to get used to and I love the Run N' Gun mechanics and it's relatively free-to-play unless you wanna unlock specific birds or pigs faster, it's one of the few classic apps available on the store today. Epic was essentially Raid: Shadow Legends but Angry Birds. Set within the world of, albeit, a pretty forgettable movie, which used turn-based combat and introduced a party system very reminiscent of a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. The golden days might be gone. But I still remember being a kid and playing those at McDonald's for an hour or so after chomping down a meal, on their tablet tables, with a drink on one side and a toy situated on the other.

Man, you bring me back memories of myself as a first grader As a diehard racing game enjoyer, I played ABGO ever since the release years of the game along with Asphalt 8 on my parents' iPad. As luck would have it, i felt dissapointed playing the 2.0 update on a phone, and i never updated the game on iPad The tablet is still alive with all my account data, the Senna Helmet Chuck, the Lunar New Year car, along others Im now in tenth grade, and i still once in a blue moon play the game to revisit the memories, which i cant say so about A8 (the 2020 car class change update, later on the Russian playerbase ban and the masochism of trying to find stable versions that dont force update)

I don't get the hate for Stella series. Aside from fandom using these characters for shipping w the guys crew, overall, female warriors flock wasn't a bad idea, and the mechanics were new. Heck even to this day cut content from Stella went to the AB2 and Journey like gum-chewing pig, for example, glued blocks - we've gotten a block glue in Journey and flying blocks are the descendants of astronaut pig, the magician pig is basically a ninja pig! Moreso shielded by gum pig is a mixture of gum pig and shield pig from Stella cut stuff. And again, mechanics were super unique. Newer gals like Melody and even fans beloved Silver (who's in the movies is a wife of Red), was inspired by them. And Willow is one of the most popular characters after the main trio and Stella herself! Even the art style and animations are there!
