First it was CC#11 and now the second Kjerag event. The theme won't stop being sampled. #arknights #arknightsmeme

the music for the pv honestly sounds too goofy for how serious everything looks I imagine a leprechaun dancing while the art shows Degen all bloodied up resting in her cabin
@broadbandislife Жыл бұрын
120% intentional, no doubt. The PV certainly gives the impression of one of those situations where everyone involved is acting all friendly and polite while plotting to backstab the shit out of everybody else. The veneer of civility.

I told you One day, Arknights: Bad Piggies edition will happen Fun Fact: Kjerag has been suspected to be Finland. Rovio, the dev of Angry Birds, is Finlandians *Guess we found the L I N K xD*
@randomjtf2op Жыл бұрын
Kjerag is Scandinavian, Finnish people usually don't consider themselves to be Scandinavian.
@TheDoctorFromArknights Жыл бұрын
That would be Sami, Sami is Finland with the Sami People, Kjerag is a mix of Scandie and Tibet with the Industrialization and culture politics

@@TheDoctorFromArknights Probably more like say Switzerland given it was IIRC mentioned to be situated in something of a buffer zone between larger states, but it's not like there was any shortage of more or less isolated little mountain countries to tap for references across Eurasia. Mountains by their very nature are something of a breeding ground for little statelets that would get gobbled up real fast by bigger fish in more passable terrain, with rather introverted conservatism tending to be a common cultural trait (the population tending to be concentrated in more or less isolated valleys has that kind of effect). Also as a Finn I feel obliged to point out we're kinda _really_ short on mountains here; this is some of the most ancient bedrock in Europe and several billion years of erosion have done a very thorough job levelling the topography. What's left is what geologists call the "basement", the deep stratum of very hard and wear-resistant metamorphic rock like granite and quartz with a thin cover of moraine and other loose whatnots. No meaningful tectonic or volcanic activity anywhere nearby either so there's been no new mountain-building since like before life first crawled up onto dry land.

@@broadbandislife Ohhhh nice, good point on mentioning The Swiss, but it's nice hearing a native's opinion regarding this kind of stuff. Also is the Sami region somewhat accurate to what the Finn's have in store or would that be the actual Sami in this case?

@@TheDoctorFromArknights I mean we have like nothing about it yet on Global so couldn't tell. But given the associated event name is in like Old Norse or something I'd say it's more generalized "ancient Scandinavia" and tapping the remote North's longstanding IRL reputation as a mysterious land of witches and sorcerers and whatnots (seriously this was still being invoked in 17th-century propaganda tracts and bonafide hedge wizards could be found in the backwoods at least as late as the 1930s), rather like how Sargon is a cheerful mashup of the Middle East, South and Central Asia and the tropics of both New and Old Worlds. Don't think I've seen those funky Sàmi hats and suchlike in the visuals so far tho... o3o
