Basically, most upgrades allow the weapon to do more damage to blocks (e.g: Luke's lightsaber, chubacca's body slamb) or increase the power's radius (e.g: Lair's beam).

Dagobah would be useful if you were to access jedi luke in endor and DS2 however it's like getting the most powerful weapon in the end of the game even though you completed it. making the green saber useful for high scores only.

You can also buy it with real life money. But even then you'd still need to beat Path Of The Jedi. Paying only unlocks the chapter without 3 starring other chapters, not the upgrade.
