John R. Dilworth's 1994 MTV Networks pilot. Copyright MTV Networks 1994.
Due to music copyright issues, the 2023 video segments updated by William "Hoho" Hohauser are absent. We could only share the current version with temp videos by David Evgenikos. Perhaps we will find a resolve and share Williams' version in the future.

Very impressive digital animation here, especially for 1994. It must've been time-consuming since the medium was practically brand new. Margaret Frey's background art is so beautiful too! I also liked hearing the snippet of you giving direction to Cabarets voice actress over the credits Mr. Dilworth. :)

This is still one of the Greatest Shorts you ever did John R. Dilworth. I can't exactly remember when I found this, but I think it was somewhere in 2011 back when I was 11. What I do remember is Enjoying Every Moment of it & rewatching it now I Still Do! The Settings, Character Designs & The Characters Themselves, Animation, Voice Acting, Humor, Etc. Thank You For Inspiring Me With Your Phenomenal Work & Characters!

Definitely a John Dilly hallucination, I quite enjoy seeing the art style I grew up with re-emerge when I'm older and can still giggle from the weirdness. Story made no sense but it is something I feel is about to grow and sprout more, unless it was truly a wild fever dream then feels a little bit more in place. Nice video and thanks for sharing this with us 😁😁

So, aside from all the drug references and inside jokes associated with the Club scene of the 90’s, Cabaret’s character was designed off of British Dance Music and Pop singer Cathy Dennis. Her accent is noticeably Texan due to the origins of “Hard Clubbing” in the US started in Dallas in the late 80’s. Lot of references and stuff with this: it’s so nostalgic…

I really wanna know what was on the television originally, but this was a fun replacement. I REALLY enjoyed this! I think it was all over the place in a GOOD way, and told a really silly, cohesive story. I enjoy your way of storytelling. Also the curved buldings, and the house with the mouth for the Angry Cabaret? Very Cool World, very excellent.
