Speaking of double standards: I’m not a Chelsea fan but cannot help but thinking - Were where the sanctions when the US went into Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria and so on? Liverpool and MU have US owners. And what about UK and Sir Teflon Tony joining the US in destroying Iraq and Libya? Millions of people have died as a result of those wars. Sanctions anyone? Hypocrisy does not even begin to describe these actions and lack of them.

The fans are correct, there's no new information on Abramovich. The fact that england refused to renew his investment visa in 2018. Reason being, Roman refused to have the UK government review all his assets. The Abramovich thing started in 2015, when Putin was peaking on his hunt of Oligarchs that he felt were too powerful or betrayed him. In 2014 Western countries were already sanctioning Oligarchs and Russia cause of the Crimea annexation. When Abramovich couldn't renew his 2 year plus investment visa in the UK (mainly cause the UK wanted to do a audit of his finances), he saw he couldn't run from Putin in the West (and a Oligarch who was on Putin's hit list for 20 years was killed in the UK, Salisbury in 2018 March) and just settled for getting Israeli citizenship through his Jewish heritage. The Abramovich saga is specifically tied to the hypocrisy of the England FA (Football Assosiation). And Abramovich's wealth with oil (Gazprom specifically, when he sold his co-owned oil company to the Government/Putin for 13 billion) early on in the 2000s backed by Putin to clear political barriers with setting up gas line and other manufacturing and sales streams. You know major oil and electricity companies have deep political ties. In turn for making things smooth business wise, Abramovich backed Putin financially and endorsed him in the 2000s. Not saying Putin has a hit on Abramovich like some other Oligarchs. But Abramovich isn't safe in Russia and knows this. Hence why as soon as his UK investment Visa was denied in 2018, coincidently with the assassination on another Oligarch in March 2018 in the UK. Abramovich said nah dawg, I'm going to Israel (end of 2018, and moved his family there), bought a whole boutique hotel and the surrounding houses for more than 20 million USD. And invested a further 10 billion upwards in Israel's tech and cyber security industry which they care so much about as a "sign of good faith". If Abramvoich was safe in Russia or any former USSR country he would have just gone there. At the moment there is no obvious evidence that Abramovich currently outright supports Putin. Funny enough, no western media or the public figure is calling the current sanctions against Roman racist (which they arent, just the public feeling like they have some moral obligation to lynch Oligarchs, understandably so. But Abramovich has had majority ownership of national television stock, etc. And has slowly dissolved most of his state related assets, for diversifying internationally. Again not quite the actions of someone favored by Putin)

The guy in the gant jacket is bang on, Im not a chelsea fan but it's hypocritical to not sanction Saudi owner clubs for their ties to their governments and their governments constant attack on Yemen which has been completely ignored. I think the sanctions of Abramovich are good because he has close ties to the Russian state.
