Nah... not really. He was just down in the ol' mullygrubs, because what he fished with, didn't work. You need to 1:Find the fish. 2: Find out what they want to eat...and use that as bait (Or a lure)! 3: Patience is the key! If they don't bite right away, give 'em time. Fishing is a waiting Man's, and waiting Woman's, game. Sometimes, you're waiting for hours on end, and then sometimes, it's only a matter of minutes...or even seconds!

Buffalo are underrated! I know you're a catch-and-release guy, but along with being fighters, they're great eating. A little bony, but they have a lot of meat on them, and a good taste and firm texture.

I was launching my kayak at a ramp beside a private campground and one of the seasonal campers came over to chat and ask what I was going after. I said "walleye" and he confidently told me "oh too bad because there aren't any in here anymore, years ago you could get them but not these days!!". I only nodded and said "ok". I didn't bother telling him I usually get a couple on most of my visits there. Local knowledge isn't always so knowledgeable.
