The guy saying gdpr doesnt apply to the public is chatting shit I work in tech and deal with peoples data, it definitely does apply to the general public as cyber criminals and criminals alike are parts of the general public which is who we need to protect our clients data from.

Freedom of the press means that journalists are exempt from gdpr, Anyone who captures a public interest story is defined as a member of the press . you can not trespass the eyes nor ears from public . if you want to keep your data private then don't show it in public . Photography is not a crime only when publishing data with nefarious intent does it become so, which illustrates your point regarding cyber criminals.
