As a beagle owner who takes his dog to match lakes, I always have him on a lead, well he's on a lead no matter what when out, noses on them doesn't stop for anything. So many owners have no control of their dogs and ruin it for thr rest of us! Good match Dave!

Cannot believe that dog Walker. She knows the dogs will be excited by all the smells of anglers baits, or should do. What happened almost inevitable….and she said she was in control of them, was she hell. More than one harder to control too. Had a Springer, know what they are like, must be on a lead in situations like that. It would have been interesting if a rod was broken for sure! Well done on the qualification.

What those 'karens' fail to remember is, you've paid to be there. Rod licence's, club fees and match fees. Then the expenses for getting there. Karen's turn up, normally with a very sad and abused dog. Karen's normally leave the dog poo on the path. Sometimes they hang up the poo bag on a bush like some trophy. My favourite rant from Karen is "you are harming the fish"......We paid for those fish with our club fees. The last thing we will do is harm the fish. We also pay for the upkeep of the water, banks and pathways.....

Hi Dave Many years ago I had an incident with a bolshi dog walker. Was shipping my pole back as I had a fish on. Idiot woman sent she dogs to jump over my pole and then started to climb over it! She complained she was fed up with anglers blocking the rather wide towpath. I explained we anglers pay for the privilege of fishing where she pays nothing to walk her dogs. Next day there was a front page main headline in the lo cal newspaper WOMAN DOG WALKER ABUSED BY ANGLER. The next week a retraction was printed!

All that gear then uses an unsuitably small landing net for skimmers on a 10lb carp . Can’t do it any good can it. Why do match anglers use such poxy landing nets when on carp waters.

If you use a small landing net it helps scoop the fish in faster and it’s a lot easier transporting the fish into the keep net. Very simple.

Where was the angry Karen? I have to say I flicked through I didn't have time this morning, however, I'm 60 now back when I was I think 16 or 17 ISH we had a problem with nature lovers and fishing being cruel, we had small groups of people going around disrupting fishing, even on occasions pushing anglers in the water, this happened to a friend of mine, I was with him, when they approached me, without hesitation I head butted the guy straight in the nose, they didn't want to play their silly game after that, my friend was fine and we recovered he's basket (remember them) for all them under 40 all you're fancy box seats, we had baskets, a box made from woven wicker, anyway as we were on our way to get picked up by he's dad the police arrived on the bank, I was 17 and shitting bricks it all turned out ok when they heard our side of the story.
