On February 24th, 2023, Officer Enguita was dispatched to a school about a disoriented parent who picked up their child in Orland Park, Illinois. The teacher showed footage of a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Caroline striking a plastic construction barrier and mounting the sidewalk during student pickup. The teacher tried to talk with her, but she refused to speak with her, prompting the teacher to call the police as she was concerned about the well-being of the driver and the child. Officer Enguita then traveled to Caroline's residence to conduct a wellness check on her.

Ffs dude ...there are way worse crimes happening, people are being abducted at fckn gun point , thats when police should be called , that karen that called this in is a fckn dipsht , the woman was at home sleeping ,She shouldn't have been arrested at all ! They made a bad situation worse. She didbt run over anyone she made it home safe , but the police could have shot her to death . .so know I'm not impressed with this arrest.

They're both felonies in most states. Also, a lot of criminal statutes have both misdemeanor and felony versions depending on the exact circumstances. If there are "enhancers" present then a misdemeanor can become a felony. For example, simple DUI may be a misdemeanor, but it can be enhanced to a felony if there is a child in the vehicle, or if somebody is injured, or if the driver has a prior DUI conviction.

He was visibly triggered and my heart broke for him and the daughter when she broke down crying because she knew he was going to get blamed for what was happening in that moment even though he didn’t go to the school to pick up their daughter. I’m triggered right now. I was raised by a narcissistic mom and my enabling step dad. @@sandraleigh4023 I’ve found peace and safety in isolation. After almost 4 decades of narcissistic abuse and revictimization from a revolving door of abusive relationships, I finally ended up in trauma treatment which started snapping me out of the dissociative state I existed in and slowly learned to love myself. The memories are the hardest to process and get beyond because they’re just so heartbreaking and I now understand why my mind hid them from me. It feels like I’m stuck in a loop where the same memories resurface over and over again, hurting me over and over again. I know that’s part of ptsd and that’s why isolation just makes me feel safer. With a destroyed nervous system and complete apathy from my brain producing and releasing way too many stress hormones, not having to be around people that manipulate and abuse my hyper empathy is a giant relief. Some people may think having a lot of empathy would be a gift, and that would be true…if you weren’t born to a family of narcissists and enablers that villainize your kindness in upside down world.

I grew up with drunk abusive parents and my grandmother and I ran away at 16 years old and never went back and I don’t drink. I won’t date drinkers because of the trauma I experienced.

I’ve been that little girl. I had a drunk stepmother who would get naked and call 911. I had to pretend that everything was ok. It’s terrifying to feel like the only voice of reason when you are only a child. It really really really sucks. She took me with her to the store, which had a pharmacy inside, and attempted to pick up my father’s pain medication. I watched her get handcuffed and hauled off. The police were beyond comforting. I’ll never forget it. They gave me a few packs of Royals baseball cards and let me play with the lights and sirens. I wish I knew their names so I could thank them. When my dad showed up at the south KC police station, he could barely hold in his rage. Seeing me in that police station was the last straw. He begged detectives to drop the charges, and filed for divorce the very next day. This video hits home more than any other body cam I’ve ever seen. I hope that little girl is ok.

Why did your father “beg” to have the charges dropped? That’s one of the worst things he could have done!

@@MS-ej9fi I think to maybe not make him look like a “bad guy” in his eyes somehow? Also to give her one last chance to get sober, which she actually did. They still got a divorce, but she’s been sober for like 27 years now.
