Our names for animals come from German and French mostly, and the verbs we associate with certain animal names don't directly translate {for instance a fly in Spanish is "una mosca", but to fly (the verb) is "volar"}.

He left because he actually got hurt :/ When you watch this video at 0.25 speed you can see that the dog manages to avoid the crash with the accelerating ram. But he stops a little too late and you can see in the "slowmo" that he got pushed at least one to two feet by the hind legs of the ram.... He basically got run over, no wonder that he left those two insane fighters alone :P
