If he had all that time to stop and argue, then he can't be in that much of a rush. In any case, it's irrelevent how long the proper route takes. It doesn't excuse taking an illegal shortcut. It’s pretty poor that you don’t report the moped and scooters with license plates like you do with the cars, I think that shows some bias and undermines what you’re trying to do. You don’t have to physically stop them if you think they’ll fall and injure themselves, but I can’t see why you don’t report them like you would if it was a car.

Not as dangerous. The riders have a very clear view of the pavement and any possible hazards along that small stretch. There really isn't any danger to what they are doing, it's simply illegal by definition of the law. In my opinion it would be imorral to report them, as they haven't inconvenienced anyone in their acts, it would simply be petty.

Whilst i admire the work you do in keeping the roads safe , i have to say i am a little bit disappointed that it is ok to report a car driver ( rightly so ) for breaking the Law , however you let off two Moped riders go free whilst for breaking the very same law that the car driver did . The guy was not only breaking the law by driving on the pavement, but if you noticed, he admitted he was delivering and, as a learner driver, would not be legally insured to drive on the road. He completely incriminate himself as being uninsured by using the vehicle for business use.

I know they're only two wheels, but they still have engine and they can still do a lot of damage (as the A&E will attest). I just don't get why you don't report them.

I’ve brought this up before and accepted your reasons for not wanting to stop motorcyclists and cyclists from breaking the law in exactly the same way that any car driver would be. There’s is absolutely no justification for NOT reporting the scooter drivers. They have motors, just like a car and are driving where it is forbidden to do so. Why do they get any privileges? Whether or not there were any pedestrians at risk or not. If they had been driving cars, they would 100% have been reported. This kind of bias is not ok at all. If the rules apply to cars, they apply to all road users. Point blank period. I understand it would be nearly impossible to get cyclists convicted as there is no identifying numbers, but scooters and motorbikes? Come on Mikey…. Play fair. If you’re going to report cars without exception then the same rule needs to apply to all identifiable road users.

I'm not surprised about the cyclists. Last year whilst on holiday I nearly ended up going over the railings guarding a cliff edge after a cyclist decided to ride on the pavement whilst admiring the view. And true to form there was no apology.

The cyclist was riding down the path at about the same distance and if I had stepped back any further I'd be just as at risk of a collision, so jumping forward into the weed growth & railings was my only option. *Edit:* Interesting about the Netherlands. I don't really see the problem in it if the pathway looks pretty clear and you're not endangering any pedestrians walking along. It's like those short narrow bridges you get that ask cyclists to dismount. If there is nobody around does it really matter about getting off?

Personally I'm a fan of the videos of him stopping drivers driving the wrong side of the road where cyclists and other cars can emerge around a corner. It's dangerous and shows bad road etiquette. No not suppose to ride a bicycle on the pavement legally but from my understanding some level of discretion is typically used by police forces. Personally speaking though I see no problem with those perhaps less experienced cycling slowly on a quiet pavement.
