We rode the Thunderbird from Osaka to Tsuruga then swapping to the Shinkansen to Kanazawa. It was a nice ride especially up past Lake Biwa. At Tsuruga we gave ourselves enough time to change as we have gotten lost in Japanese stations too often. It is actually a very straight forward transfer but the odd thing is that the total journey time was slightly longer than just the old full Thunderbird route.

Thank you! I did not know some of the capsules have been saved for museums. Going to have to do some research to find one to view. My friend who loves the building will so happy I can add viewing a capsule to our 2025 Japan trip.

As for the last Fax, I took Japanese in high school. It took a lot of studying and practice but it so much easier to learn then English and I assume many, many other languages.

I was doing fairly well at learning Japanese, but then got overconfident and tried the Genki book. I really didn't get on with them and lost motivation. JapanesePod101 seemed to work the best for me asking with a few KZbin videos that were probably for teaching children.
