My father is a die-hard fan of Sholay, despite not speaking or understanding Hindi. I was just seven when he insisted I watch it, and that's when I first heard the name Salim-Javed. Just yesterday, he recounted standing in line for two hours to get a single ticket when Sholay finally released in our Kerala town, nearly two years after its initial release. Amitabh Bachan is the one and only true superstar in the Indian film industry of all time! Not SRK, Rajnikant or anyone And yes, i am saying this as a south Indian!! The reason because my mom was born and brought up in kerela around the 70s & 80s So the access to Theatre and TVs was so limited at that time period according to her. Even then she was aware of a man called Amitabh Bachan without watching a single movie of his. Such was the buzz around him that his awareness was there purely from the basis of just print media and word of mouth!! The guy has a different aura and charisma around him!!! Even in his 80s, when i saw him in Kalki, it was just surreal. What a absolute legend ❤
