Thank you so much for your videos! The stories you tell give so much depth into the world of making an animated movie. I have learned so much! I know you're not a fan of Adobe, a great tool for doing motion tracking and stabilization is blender. I know a little plug but it is worth looking at after having used it many times to stabilize video footage.

Thanks for that suggestion - I'll look into it. I imagine DaVinci Resolve has something in that class as well, also should check that!

I'd spotted that pole on the boat moving around when I examined this animation (prior to me recreating the animation of the wheel spinning shot) and the only explanation that makes sense to me is that they forgot to paint it on the background and when they realised it was missing they just painted the pole on a separate cell instead of on the original boat cell. And that allowed it to jiggle. Time & cost was always an issue, so I can only think that for some reason, that made more sense to them.

They must have been scrambling! I've worked on productions like that.

Actually it took me a bit by surprise! I wasn't aware this was coming, as I'd given up hope years ago, as Disney has been such a brute regarding copyright. Good thing for them the Estates of Hans Christian Anderson, The Brothers Grimm and Carlo Collodi aren't as ruthless!!!!!!

@animatewithdermot hey lol you are so right. If you need an assistant animator or apprentice I am here. Roughing it out like a caveman with these #€~♡#*×"! Animation programs. Testing each one loading mind you short sound files 2 to 7 secs so I can then chisel my way through getting on with the individual programs how where what and why - just to get driving the pen or pencil... also the Edda would be something interesting to do.
