I have learned so much from the show. Priceless for anyone interested in breeding and cannabis culture.

I cant express how excited I am about this episode interview and landrace subject matter altogether. We need to preserve these genetics and start using them to build well thought out hybrids that actually lean 1 direction or the other and bring terpenes and traits that we havent even seen. Not only are these lines unique themselves but think of how much potential they have to spice up the market.

Meeting Rob Clark would be a dream come true. Enjoyed listening to Chucky. I'm from the south too. I've always wondered about that Kentucky soil. I heard it's proper pH there. I'm an old pot nerd. I have been seeing people pass away alot of us fairly young, I think that life was hard on us all. I still feel hunted by the government. I still dream of pheno hunting all my old stuff to see what pops out. It's a tough world now for old heads that have been busted.

The firepit, animal bones...analogy took me back to finding a firepit in the mountains of Va. that had plants growing around it. Very insightful.

I like purple thai/chocolope taste. Tried to mix with a hash tasting stinky skunk. To make a purple skunk. Got great growing purple plants that you can taste the purple.
@rickterrance4981Ай бұрын
Purple thai and haze /purple haze anything with thai genetics slaps hard and is very "clear and clean" with an amazing euphoria. We have to preserve thai and southeastern Asian sensimilla genetics.

I grow outdoor zone 5-4. So looking for shorter flower time cultivars that show lots of color like other temperate plants do. Grew some 16 gen Afghani. Seeds were like little specks. Didn't look like a cannabis seed. And many snap crackles and pops in a joint. Was happy when they were cross breed at the time. Because made bigger seeds, but still small. Mice love seeds up north. I have some from Altai once landrace we call Atari. Because of some TarTar crossed in.

Sick interview! Be awesome to get him on again to delve further into the effects of some of his strains. I just planter the deliorganics Kalamata red which has an interesting genealogy based on phylos. His 90s skunk lines I think are the best I've ever had in terms of effect

I just realized why there are certain areas where mainly sativa stuff is grown and others where only indica is the main thing; it's the weather, also for indoor grows. If you live in areas where there is much humidity that you can't get away from, e.g. non isolated buildings you can find mainly hazes and similar sativas in eastern US like New York and western Europe like Netherlands and Germany. If you grow hazes in such conditions there is much less chance for Botrytis than with indicas or skunks, although indicas are not per se succeptible for mold if the nodes are distanced far enough from each other, as buds rarely rot from inside than in between the clusters. Of cause there are also resons like the more big city fast lifestyle in areas like New York but as the old black market had to operate on terms of economics and not what people like, I guess the weather is a better explanation.

Cool stuff! I am growing 1 Plant Panjshir Kush from the Afghan Seed Connection, but it seems to be dude 😅 It has some funky stuff going on, strong plant and smell, but the leafes started funky, one looked like a snaketounge lol.... But seems strong and it takes Stress pretty damn good at this point...maybe i flower it and take the pollen to store somehow for a breeding run...😊

With all of the amatuers inbreeding closely related lines these days, someone should call a new strain from such breeding "Hapsburg Jaw".

What do you think about "base" cultivars, as I call them, becoming more of a thing? Like stable strains where they are heavily based on certain traits like being higher in a certain cannabinoid to have something to really work off of to actually create new strains rather than just creating huge mutts where everything is nearly the same and you (or idk at least) can't get strains that would make good bases for making something completely new or super specific. I will be looking for a vid like that from you until then haha. I love these podcast vids bc I really like learning the history and appreciate you putting it out bc I honestly don't know where I would get this info from, so thank you. And all your guests.
@rickterrance4981Ай бұрын
My sentiment exactly. We need to treat cannabis breeding the exact same way as pure bred dogs horses etc.. the more "building blocks" we have the more is possible. If we keep just breeding with clones once something falls out of style for even a short while all of the work that went into it becomes a waste.
@BreedersSyndicateАй бұрын
When I do my own work I always want one side - usually the male - as a super stable like (breeding true for one or more traits) - everything else is a crapshoot and for people liking to dig (which is valid and fine) - I just like to be able to tell people what to have them expect and then later have them confirm that

Goddamit. KZbin does that crap all the time. I get messages from people telling me I’m deleting comments and I’m like - I haven’t even looked at them yet! 😂. I’m hoping someone comes up with a better platform than this with less restrictions but no political leaning. It’s also important to have a strong weed watch base or it’s pointless so for the moment we are stuck with this crappy software. And thanks for the kind words - trying to keep the guests and topics coming! We were down for a few months and very spotty but we are fully back at it!
