Here's my stupid little essay: Ani is one of few in billions that have lived, a peak expression of our human species. She has ridden both the peaks and troughs of our high and low experiential waves, and then returned and set those lessons to incomparably immaculate music, with evidently maximum talent... and yet despite the necessary practice, she brings every performance to life with full-soul-deep truth. Only one in billions of us reach her skill and luck (perhaps to have lived and recognized the important things), and so for anyone who has had the extreme privilege to have really heard her, only a profound fool would not thank her to the depth our souls for her insights. Ani shakes me to my very soul every time, it's dangerous to drive for the tears evoked if I dare try play her while I roll. But in the dark of night, at home and safe, I listen most carefully to her unparalleled revelations and insights of her and my souls. And I say all this as a biological male, with all that entails, yet she has spoken to my soul, and to truths of human experience, more deeply and importantly, than any other musician / poet I have ever had the life changing good fortune to hear.
