NEVER add water to concentrated acid. The first drop if the right size might generate quite a bit of eat and it's possible for it to boil and spatter. ALWAYS add acid to water. There's lot more water to absorb the heat of dissolution when they mix. I am a Chemist and you never know when you may pour it "just right" to make it spatter. You say it's never happened to you? That's what pilots who never landed with their gear up, until they do! Just a word to the wizs.
