I cannot tell you how glad I am that I found your channel. I didn’t know where to start with power tools and woodworking, but I wanted to do so many projects around my house that simply haven’t gotten done because my partner isn’t as interested in getting them done lol so I knew I needed to learn all about woodworking and power tools, your channel is a godsend. I plan on watching every single video you’ve ever made. Thank you so much for putting the time in to do this to educate us.

I watched the whole thing! Couldn’t stop because it was so informative. I just got a SKIL table saw and can’t believe I waited this long to get one. The info presented here is SO valuable for a table saw novice. Thank you Anika!

I have been using a table saw for the last 40 some years and wish that I had this excellent video as a learning tool guide when I started. Well done and a complete guide for the novice and a reminder for the more advanced. Over the years I have been reminded of some of the dangers using my saw when not adhering to the concerns you have noted. Complacency accounts for many workshop accidents as well as improper use of the tool. 🇨🇦👍👨🦳

Really excellent tutorial. One set of products you may want to add to your tablesaw safety arsenal are the Bow feather board products. You can buy or build an auxiliary fence to add their death boards to apply slight downward pressure while the other feather boards which apply sideway pressure only allow the boards to travel forward. This basically eliminates (as much as possible) kickback. I have them installed on my DeWalt job site saw and it feels so much safer

About the blade guard, I don't feel it necessary to see the blade while cutting. What matters is seeing the board contacting the fence.
@Anikasdiylife9 ай бұрын
That is true - board contacting the fence is very important but the blade guard hinders that as well if you are making a narrow cut.
@SBUSA174 ай бұрын
Don’t you have to measure to outside of the blade? Not the inside?

are there any other ways to make dado cuts without a table saw ?

Yes. You can use a router for it.
