Metal music and metal album artwork have a long history. It's disheartening to see how much AI is being used in lieu of actual artists these days. On one hand I can completely understand, not every band has the money to pay a fine artist to work on their album and some AI creations do look very cool. But on the other hand it's still disappointing to see the fears of artists about AI coming to fruition so quickly.

Thank you for your honest comment. I understand what you’re saying, and you are definitely on point when it comes to the costs for the bands. This "hobby" does cost a lot, I mean, if you want to do it like the pros do. And that’s what we are doing. It’s not only about money; it’s the work being done after our day jobs, after family time, usually during late evenings and nights. The night I made the "artwork," which I should have curated better in some parts, was one of those nights. I took a shortcut where I needed to. I am not ashamed of it. I think if you listen to your music and look at the other stuff we make, you will find that it’s not about AI. It never will be. AI will change nothing in the music industry. It will not make average better, and AI artwork won’t sell albums. It’s just a tool, and it is the vision, dedication, and the hours you put into the music and your passion that matters. I really appreciate your comment, and I had to reply so you would understand our side of the story. Respect 🍻

@ereticaeOfficial I fully understand. I've been in the art and music worlds to varying degrees for a few decades and know all to well how much blood sweat and tears it takes to commit to an artform you love, so having to cover ALL of the bases as an up-and-coming artist is near impossible these days. My comment was in no way a knock on you or your band, it was more a generalized comment on the state of things in general. Probably more me showing my age where I'm nostalgic for the days of lo-fi art on smaller bands demos and bands seeming like they "made it" when they could finally afford an artist like Simon Bisley or John Blanche to do their cover art. The lines around AI creations have blurred so much over the past year and I've become obsessive in calling them out. Your music on it's own is excellent and I didn't mean to detract from it. I look forward to hearing much more from you in the future. *EDIT - I wanted to make a note appreciating your response. Thank you for the clarification and taking the time to respond. Cheers!

@@Nightshade1881 There are updated markers to recognizing AI creations beyond "hands look weird" from just a few months ago and this cover has a lot of them. - Shapes replicated in spaces where they don't belong, examples: the cabin shape replicated in the woods behind it; the tree (or grass?) shapes beneath her feet. - Incongruous objects bleeding together or unifying in strange ways, examples: the cabin on the far right melding into the center of the trees next to it; the wolf and the woman (Is it a fur? Is she carrying it?) - Artifacting of objects the AI uses as "greebling", examples: the "window" just leaning against the cabin in the background; the tatters in the eaves. It's understandable to think these might just be artistic choices from an actual artist, but recognizing these features for what they are will be increasingly more important in the coming months. AI is getting wild and it's happening at an alarming rate.
