Wild World's graphics are really quite good; it's just that the DS's resolution is so low that it doesn't do them justice. When emulated natively at higher resolutions, many DS games are surprisingly detailed (though texture detail is usually low because it simply isn't necessary on such low resolution screens). Wild World was also tiny (I believe it shipped on a 32MB cartridge) and even the Wii version was only a few hundred megs in size.

Not really. The game runs in real time, so you wake up a couple seconds later. Could you imagine how terrifying it would be if you were a kid, your character passed out from being stung, you turn the game off, then come back a couple hours later to see they're still not moving? A tip for New Horizons players is to equip the bug net while shaking trees. If you’re in a good position when the wasp nest falls, you can quickly press the A button to catch the wasps before they sting you.
