It's an exception case with sycon... As in porifera phylum fertilization is internal and self but sycon shows cross fertilization

Hi @symphonysanctury21 Porifera shows doesn't show self fertilisation because protogynous condition in present in them ,due to which the female egg matures earlier than the male gamete , so it performs cross fertilisation just because the male gamete is not matured at the moment
