Hello!! I was informed by one of my brother's friends who said he's a friend of urs too. He told me that you're a fan of ants too, This video definitely proves that! you have so many different ant species and are raising them very well!! You clearly know a lot of information about your ant colonies! :D 1 Question, have you ever considered feeding them something with sugar, I've heard that it helps increas their speed and give them more energy, it doesn't increase their strength like protein but I think it still counts as food and it may speed up the ant colonies growth/building process. I am still unsure about this fact and if you've already tried it then you probs know the results. Btw what I mean by sugar is: Honey, Jam, Jelly or even just sugar water (NOT a replacement for ordinary water suply).

I love your video and I have 3 ant queens of my won which I am hoping that at least one of them will become a big colony too in the future!

@jamesandansgar7698 I’m glad you enjoyed the video! And I do always have a sugar water test tube or a jelly pot with each colony, I just tend to remove it when I’m filming because they’re not the prettiest of things! But your spot on - the sugar gives the adult ants the energy they need to survive and move about, as they don’t eat much protein as they’ve finished developing at this stage of their lives! Keep going with your colonies, I’m sure you’ll get some fantastic results! 😄

@@anythingants Thank you!! Ah yes that does make sense. I'm glad that that was correct as I was planning on my ant colonie's first meal to be a drop of honey! 😃 I will try my best, thank you very much!👍

Very nice and beautifull set ups. I have one question. How do you hibernate for example the myrmica rubra colony? When they are housed in bioactive terrarium
@anythingants14 күн бұрын
As they’re native to where I’m from, and most of the plants are fairly hardy, I can put the entire terrarium in the garage over the colder months, and they hibernate that way

how often do you water the fire ant fishbowl? And could you tell me a way to do it without affecting the babypowder barrier at top please?
@anythingants14 күн бұрын
I would water it every week or so, the best way I found was to do it using a pressure sprayer and making sure it was below the barrier before using it😄
