It's interesting that the bubble wand is like the last of the common items I got in this game.

same, I went the other direction first so I had pretty much everything before it. I actually love that about this game, most areas are designed to be "solved" with any combination of items (with only a few spots hard requiring multiple specific items)

Lmao I got deep into the water zone early on so I had to find out what was waiting at the end

Same, I couldn’t hit the buttons in the seahorse room without another item.

My brother got the bubble wand first and I found it increasingly hilarious how I kept going and just kept finding different items other than that one lol, this game is so open ended

I was also completely sucked into this game at launch. Loved it so much. Somehow, the cool platforming epiphanies were more surprising to me than the puzzle epiphanies. Kinda hope this game gets a randomizer at some point lol.

Speaking of Environmental Station Alpha, I really wish it would be gotten to work / certified on Steam Deck. Great video and great job on keeping it spoiler free. Animal Well is a game that's full of discoveries, and it keeps delivering more than you might expect.

Have you played Lyle in Cube Sector? It's a meyroidvania with very creative player abilities. It's not on Steam, it's old freeware.

I hadn't even heard of it, but after looking it up and reading a bit about it I wanna give it a shot.

@@ingeniousclown If the freeware version gives you trouble running it on modern windows, there is a Mega Drive port of the game that easily runs on emulators.

What's your opinion about Nine Sols? I'd say it very much falls into the category of 'somewhat samey tropes but executed extremely well'

Every spoiler worth knowing before hand: This game is fun. There are aminals. There's secrets. It's very approachable, game journalists could even survive the starting area if they go all out. (I believe in you game journalists, you can do it!!! Don't give up!!!!) It's pretty. ~ 34 megabytes is crazy. (actual spoiler) I put 20 hours into my first run. I'm now at 39 hours with all achievements. And there's about 3 layers more of secrets I never even touched.

What was that last bit of the video by the hummingbird I can't replicate that playing the same notes. Is it something he just edited in?
@coolfool1835 ай бұрын
that's edited. it's a song from Zelda if I recall correctly
@ingeniousclown5 ай бұрын
the whirlwind grabbing the blob is edited, but i played the notes legit. if you hold the bumpers you change the notes. also the song originates from Zelda 1, but the whirlwind sprite is from using the flute in Mario 3, which plays the same song (which is also the notes that comprise the title theme of Ocarina of Time)

honestly, i feel like the secrets of the game are both to the games benefit and to its detriment. the secrets make the game really cool to explore for the first time, but once you beat the game you have to basically retrace your steps and re-explore every area in case you missed something. this makes the game impossible to 100% complete blind (or at the very least makes it take a tremendous amount of effort and time) which for me is honestly a real shame. at least the core game is very fun also, is it just me or does the bubble wand kinda trivialize the platforming sections? i personally got the bubble wand really late, so i was used to abusing the pink item's tech really skillfully in order to get to certain areas. the moment i got the bubble wand, i instantly figured out its tech and that just honestly ruined the whole platforming part of the game for me...
